Hmmm.

http://2ksports.com/games/nba2k9/

Nope, still don't see it listed and it hasn't been listed in any press releases. Someone better let 2K know they're making a PC version. Don't want them waking up on October 7th realizing nobody hit the port to PC button on the 360 devkit.

And if you think everything the ESA lists comes out, you haven't heard of a company called Nintendo.

Pdub wrote:If 2Ksports could easily port the 360 version to the PC, I'm sure they would. Porting games from a console seems to be alot more work then we might think. When games come out for multiple consoles and PC, they are usually developed simultaneously. Even then, look at Assassin's Creed and GTA IV. Their PC releases are much later then the console versions.

The delay has nothing (or very little) to do with development. It's a business decision because obviously these jerkholes make a fortune on console versions that sell for $64.99 and not as much on PC versions that sell for $34.99. They delay it so that PC users (almost everyone these days has a PC) are forced to go out and get a console and buy that version. after the first wave of early adopters buys the game, they wait 6 more months so that people of varying resistance fall prey and buy the console version. THEEEEEN, they release the PC version for the stubborn types like me who absolutely hate consoles. It's their version of squeezing the customer. Note that there was NEVER any mention of GTA IV being released on the PC until 5 months after it came out for the consoles. They don't want people to wait because obviously, the PC version is far superior (what with trainers and patches and user mods). Also, the PC version is easier to pirate I assume.

Do you see something about a PC release? so, you have found the answer: there won't be nba 2k9 for PC

That's not the final answer. GTA IV's website had ZERO mention of a PC version when the game was released for the consoles back in Feb. It wasn't until a few months ago that they released news that they would release a PC version. Read my post above. It's all part of their scheme to get us to buy the console version.

At this point, it seems like we have no idea if 2k9 is going to be out for the PC. Just the way 2k wants it. I suspect that if it does come out, it'll come out in December or something.

That's already been posted as a source. Until 2K Sports actually confirms a PC release, even a scenario like the one JWL3 suggested is at best a strong possibility. Maybe that will be the case and so much the better for PC players but with so many erroneous listings around the web (some sites are still listing a PC version of NBA Live 09, IGN is still listing a PC version of NBA Live 2002 seven years on) I for one remain skeptical until I hear it from the horse's mouth.

Well, the game is now available in PC version for pre-order on this site in France :
http://www.alapage.com/-/Fiche/JeuxVide ... ppel=GOOGL

29.90€. That's more than the ps2 version (19.90€) (could it be a sign of 360 port?)
I've never seen nba live 09 listed on that site this year.
I'm not saying this can't be a mistake, but I must say I've never seen such an error on this kind of french site.
But I repeat, I can be wrong

I really like Take 2/2K games. But I really hate the way they market or actually don't market their products.

For once I would like to hear solid facts from this company. Everything always has to be so encrypted and elusive. Is this their way of creating "Hype"

The moron who runs their marketing department and public relations should be fired. Many places are listing a PC title, I've seen some alleged PC screens that did look very "PC" like at gamespot's site.

All the secrecy is just unnecessary

I'm going to do the same thing I did to the other thread. I'm locking this until there is confirmation from 2k about the PC version. There is no new information and there is no need to continually post different websites taking preorders or whine about the lack of confirmation.

If you have logical information, PM me, I'll open one of these two threads back up.
Opinions are my own.

Time to unlock it.

http://www.theotherseason.com/#/leagueHome

Click preorder and it takes you to gamestop. It shows the PC version has a shipping date of October 20th.

Now, why would 2ksports send you to gamestop instead of their own online store? Why wouldn't they advertise it being for PC? Why would they have a different price, and a different release date? It's obvious. There is no real reason to advertise the PC version. The past couple years we barely got any info on the PC version of Live.

Benji said that Take Two registered the UPC code of the PC version at a upc databse. Well, there you have it.

It's unofficially official.

So does this means that it's unofficially official that 2k9 will be on PC?

Sorry for asking, but I get really stupid sometimes especially on the day where I've spent 8 hours in meeting. I cant even understand simple English after a day like that..

I think it's a low price because all they did was push the compile for windows button and added a few stuff for Windows like mouse and keyboard support. I also think it will be the nextgen version. I also think it's a low price so people would be more likely to buy it rather then download it.

Well, I stand by being doubtful when there was less evidence of a PC version but it does look like it is indeed "unofficially official". I'm a little surprised, after all they have seemed reluctant to bring the game to the PC market but with NBA Live bombing on the PC the last couple of years and being a console only release this year, the timing is perfect for them to step in and try to win over an audience that has long been seething about the product they've been getting.

Interesting to see how EA Sports will react, whether they'd end up porting to the PC after all sans some of the online features this year. I highly doubt that though.
