Question about Frets on Fire

first off, is there anyone thats played this, just so that i could get a little help around here?
i went and DLed the thing here [click] and then i saw the third link 'Update for previous version'. anybody know what this update does? all ive done is DLed it, but havent really applied the actual update yet. is the only thing it updates is just adding the 'translations' folder?
