Charlotte Bobcats In Dynasty Mode

Postby pinkegobox on Tue Nov 18, 2003 9:33 am

well..

i've tried to add the bobcats in franchise mode but i have one big problem

i've changed the hornets to the western conference then reassign the seed numbers for each conference and division

i've added the bobcats to the central division in place of the hornets the added the hornets to the midwest division..

i've checked everything but my game crash after the training camp of the first season..

anyone has already tested it ???

thanks for your replys :wink:

I'm sure when Andrew gets his game, he could probably figure something out. But, I'm just assuming. :wink:

i'm just guessing, but it might not have a schedule for the bobcats :?: . i have no idea how that works...it might just generate a random one......maybe try removing a team--it might have a limit on how many teams can be in it......let me know if you find out anything :cool:

Yeah, are we sure we're picking random schedule? And yeah, maybe the scheduler has a max # of teams.

I've messed around and been able to work them into the dynasty mode but only by displacing one of the regular 29 teams. 30 wont work without modifying something else like the schedule file. Looking at the file I see the game runs through the list of all games for 29 teams only.

A couple of questions for people here with more experience than I:

It wouldnt be too hard to write in a schedule for a 30th team but does anybody know if the game would read it?

I see the schedule is written for an entire 82 game season. Does anybody know how the program picks the order of the games for 56 and 28 games seasons? Knowing this might effect how the new schedule is written.

Which database schedule would you need to change; current, working, original or all of them?

thanks,
J

I try to add thr Bobcats to the league by dumping New Orleans, but NBA Live 2004 won't let me choose the Bobcats, it'll only let me choose the team from the 29 already exsisting.

How do you get the Bobcats into the league?

If you want to swap them out with another team you'll have to assign these fields in the dbf file so that they are in and the other team is taken out.

BOBCATS:

TEAM CODE = 0
CONFERENCE = 1
DIVISION = 3
INSEASON = 4

TEAM BEING TAKEN OUT:

TEAM CODE = 4 or 6
CONFERENCE = 2
DIVISION = 4
INSEASON = 0

I kept their given TEAM NUMBER as 53. You can pick whatever players you want to give them from the PLAYERS dbf file and change their ORIGTEAM and TEAM number to 53. In the game I'm messing with I basicly closed the Toronto franchise and moved them to Charlotte. I just changed all their players ORIGTEAM/TEAM from 26 (Torontos) to 53.

All attempts to alter the schedule to accomodate 30 teams have failed thusfar.

An experiment (thanks to my brother again) has been done and it's a bad news

He started a season with bobcats in one of the western conference divisions and saved the season.

He then started a dynasty with San Antonio. He saved the season and replaced schedule and team dbf files with the ones from the season file.

Result: crash. :(

I think dynasty mode AI is hardcoded in the game and just won't work away from the default setting. That's probably why they disabled choosing multiple teams. Nevertheless keep experimenting guys. Let us know if you have found anything.

And i got a question to Bills Toupee. Have you managed the bobcats in dynasty by replacing one of the other teams? Have you actually managed to get past the training session and play a game or two?

Yeah I checked it out and it played ok and then simmed through a couple seasons to make sure nothing screwy happened with the playoffs,draft, training etc. and all was good.

You could add extra teams into 2003 and it would automaticly schedule them in ok and the draft would work out right and everything but it might not be posible for 2004. I'll keep poking around and let people know if I come up with anthing.

30 teams in SEASON mode is pretty simple.

Just go to teams.dbf and change the teamcode (of the Bobcats) to 0.

Start the season and you will be able to switch one of the "empty" to Charlotte.

Better still, you can change the dbf file a little further and put them in a division (rather than midwest) as a default.

it just doesn't work in dynasty

I changed the teamcode to 0 but it still won't let me choose bobcats in season mode.

hey in order to play bobcats in season mode just change the following:

bobcats
conference: from 0 to 1
division: from 0 to 2

oh and by the way..i placed the bobcats team in eastern conf. and I shifted the hornets team to western conf. :D

hornets

conference: from 1 to 0
dvision: from 2 to 1

Thanks for your info hey but it still aint happening.

I did as you said, but it wasn't 2 it was like 4 for conference.

But I changed it so Bobcats has 1 conf, 2 divi and New Orleans has 0 conf and 1 divi.

When I choose the teams using the arrows it won't come up with new orleans or Bobcats.

Cheers

what arrow are you clicking? :?: is it the user/cpu arrow? well....

okay 1st things 1st is...go to season mode
then look for the CB..mine.. I placed it in the atlantic div. for no reason at all. Second I chose the team by clicking the select team arrow... am I getting you flustered already? :lol: .. HonestlyI really don't know the term to use...this is the arrow where you can put the other teams you want in any division...and by just clicking it..the slot for the CB team will beempty and by just clicking it once more..CB will appear again!

Then you will notice the league type will change into Custom and Season Length will be in terms of short, medium and long. and basically that's it!!! It all depends on you now!!

I hope this could help you already! :)

I went into season mode, and I put New Orleans to the midwest divi.

When I try to add BC to Atlantic it will just say empty and it'll only show one arrow (pointing to the right) but when I click on it, it will do nothing at all.

Maybe there is something I didn't do correctly in my dbf file, the file I must edit is called teams.dbf right?

Maybe I could email you my file, and you can edit it for me and then email me back the edited file.

Thanks for your help friend.

Adrian.
