Virtual Memory Low

I'm getting crashes because my computer keeps getting this virtual memory too low thing, really frustrating, happens in the middle of a game, anytime. This happens especially when the transition screen comes on after a time out. Someone please help me with this!

Got this on this site:
* Windows XP/2000/Vista
* 1.3 GHz Intel Pentium III or higher
* 256 MB RAM
* 3.8 GB free hard drive space
* 64 MB video card with DirectX 9.0c driver
Supported chipsets:
o NVIDIA GeForce 3 or greater
o ATI Radeon 8500 or greater
o Intel 915/950/965
* 8x DVD-ROM Drive
* Sound card with DirectX 9.0c compatible driver
* Dual Analog GamePad Strongly Recommended
How much free disk space space you got?
