Didn't want to start a thread on those 2 minor signings so I bumped this thread.

Why the hell did they sign Ivey and Rush? Rush makes a little more sense because of his range on the J but Ivey? C'mon...he's kinda useless since he probably won't see any playing time at all now that they got Green, Williams and Rush on the bench.

No playing time for Ollie and Green makes me happy (Y)
Ladies and gentlemen, we've got our shooter. The next superstar of the NBA, Kareem Rush. Now that he's not behind Kobe and Shaq he'll flourish...wait, what?
They're both relatively small contracts, so you can't really argue about them being bad signings.

The Sixers might be close to finalizing a deal with Iguodala. That's what it says on the ESPN site but I can't view the whole article because I'm not an insider. :-(

Now that they were able to get Brand and to keep Williams, if they can really keep Iggy we're really looking at one of the best teams in the east and at a possible contender in 1 or 2 years. I'm excited.

I don't blame you, if they can come to terms with Iguodala it will have been a fine offseason for the Sixers with a couple more months to try and work some more magic.

Apparently is a 5 years/$72M contract. Do you guys think he's worth that kind of money?

I'd say it's fair market value.

iguodala is still young and possess potential for more so i guess it was right for phillies to make a commitment by giving him a big contract.

So much for the rumor that he's going to be traded to Dallas. Nice.

And Jason Smith torn his ACL. It's the Brand Effect, if you're near him you screw your knee, just ask Shaun Livingston. I guess this means more playing time for Speights (I'll get used to his name soon, but not now)

We need an extra big man now. One that can play like 10 minutes a game. Ratliff would be the way to go.

He is, though it remains to be seen whether he'll decide to retire.

He won't. He'll sign with the Sixers and win a championship. Quote me in...uh, nevermind.

Iguodala reportedly signed a 6yr/$80m contract. So the team is almost set, the only thing missing is a back up big to replace Smith.

RealGM says theres no deal yet (But I do still believe ESPN. They're more reliable in my book :D)

RealGM generally posts articles from other sources, including ESPN. Their source in that case is the Philadelphia Daily News, though it could be just the usual denial before the official announcement.

Clicky

Should be the response to Smith's injury. Don't know how he's gonna perform but signing him for just 1 year at the veteran's minimum is no risk at all so I think it's a good move.

He's a solid player. Or was. I guess he'll contribute to the team when Sammy needs a rest.

He can get the job done in limited minutes so long as he's healthy. A good pickup given the circumstances.

Holy shit, they picked up another one.

The Sixers definitely needed another SF but I'm not sure that Marshall is a good enough choice, especially since it's pretty uncertain how Young at the 3 is gonna work.

I just hope they don't have to play Iggy at the 3 and start Green again, that'd be just awful.

At least this gives the team more options. A big man with nice shooting, and a decent rebounder. They can stretch the floor even more now.
