Not true, it means I've got to create him in the NBA Live 08 rosters just when I thought I'd added everyone whom I needed to for the moment. :(

Chinese have enough work, hell, the kids start working from age 4 and onwards. ( I really hope Ben doesn't ask me to prove this with stats. :( )

Why would the Lakers want to sign another guard??? When what they really need now is an off the bench C/PF. They already have Vujacic and Walton that would play somewhat a similar role as Sun. Is a trade in the works perhaps?

sometimes it makes me wonder if Ben is working towards a law degree

My guess is Sun is gonna probably play third string SG behind Kobe and Vujacic. They already have Walton and Ariza to back up Odom at SF. But you're right, Bruce, the Lakers another PF/C off the bench who could play some minutes.

The Lakers are considering moving Bryant to small forward and making frontcourt player Lamar Odom a guard.

i remember saying this and getting some ppl confused whether this (kobe @ sg/sf) would make difference or not. but i do think this would make a difference. can't really(also 2 lazy) to explain the details cuz of my fluency and literacy skills. anyhoo, according to the source, this would make kobe more efficient scorer. anyone care to explain how so?

on more relevant matter, i saw lakers using a second round pick(? can't remember well) a few years ago to pick sun yue. but they didn't play him back then and now they sign him to play? i think lakers are sorta targeting asian population, hoping sun yue would play somewhat decent and attract $$$ from asian market. especially, when interests in nba from china are increasing at rapid speed.

Although I didn't like the pick, it was in the 2007 Draft and at the time, they didn't think he was ready to play for the Lakers. Yue didn't try out for the team and thus he didn't get a contract. I don't think he will be much of a player for the Lakers. Probably brought in for development reasons. The Lakers did get him to work out so they must see enough talent in him to justify a contract.

As X and I discussed, perhaps the fact that he is 6'8" or 6'9" and has decent handles for his size; it makes him a candadate to play as a tall PG which is what Jax had guys like Ron Harper and Brian Shaw play back in the day.

Ron Harper was never a point guard (with Phil Jackson), even if he was listed as such. He was a great defender and occasional scorer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Another guard who is a great shooter and somewhat no defense at all. IMO, he's like another Vujacic...

Oh, this would make Kobe even more popular...Chinese only know one player on the US team and that is Kobe...

Vujacic was being praised for his defence all throughout the series.

Well, for the most part yes. But on that series, he guarded Ray Allen but Allen just scored at will (including the layup on Game 4), open jumpers, etc.

But its ok, because Vujacic doesn't play defence, because Ray Allen got a layup during game 4.

Well, the Lakers did eventually sign another front court player.

The Lakers just signed Josh Powell, while it is not a signing that will wow anybody over. All Josh Powell have to do is is grow a thin goatee and nobody will ever miss Turiaf. They basically paly the same role. I haven't seen Powell play that much yet, but from what I have seen, Powell isn't afraid of contact while trying to keep opposing players out of the paint, this against Turiaf, trying to block everyone and showing them his clenched teeth.

And then there is also the other Laker signing, Dwayne Mitchell who reminds me though of Smush Parker. The Lakers looks like they want to develop this guy into a tall PG. Though he can score well in the D-League, I think this guy is going to bomb just by looking at his asst-to stats.

After these recent signings of Sun, Mitchell and Powell, All I can say is the 2008-09 LA Lakers would WOULD WIN IT ALL if they were playing in the Euro-League .[/s]

I doubt that those other guys will make the team. they'll probably get cut in training camp. Sun on the other hand will probably see Coby Karl time this year as Phil loves his rookies plus he's got Sasha and Farmar ahead of him.
