In my Cavs Association the Blazers ended up signing Deron Williams, so now they have him Oden, Brandon Roy, and some how they also landed Yi. I'm in my 3rd year so thats a pretty stacked team.

After the recent news of Baron Davis signing with the Clippers, I tried to trade for him in my Association. I had put a few players on the trading block, Most notably Shaun Livingston because he was unhappy about his minutes, and he didn't get much happier even after starting a few times. The others were Tim Thomas, Nenad Krstic, and Cuttino Mobley.

So I got some great offers from other teams, so I capitalized and landed the highest rated players out of those offers which were Jamal Tinsley, Marcus Camby, and Mickael Pietrus. I tried to use them in several ways to get Davis, trying the two team option, and many different 3 team offers. After a while I decided to make a huge lobsided trade so that the Warriors interest was maxed out. They still didn't want to give up Davis. The Warriors were leading the division and Baron Davis was an MVP candidate, no wonder they didn't want to trade him.

I ended up trading Pietrus for Quentin Richardson, a former Clipper. At 14-7 at the trade deadline, I was able to put together a string of victories with my new team. The first game I played with them was against the Celtics, and my new, overly defensive squad shut them down holding them to 28 points in the first half, and 68 points for the entire game. My team had double figures in both blocks and steals.

Heading into the final game of the season, we were tied with the Warriors for first place at 19-9. Guess who I was playing for the final regular season game? The Warriors.

The game started off slow as both teams were playing great defense and the offensive chemistry was not there. In the second quarter the Warriors started to rally with inside buckets, but I countered by telling my team to box out and get back on defense and to sag off to make them shoot jumpers. They missed, and we controlled the boards and put up over 60 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, heading into the 4th with a 25 point lead.

I started milking the clock on every possession, while GS pushed the ball and found inside opportunities which got them to the free throw line alot. Milking the clock was counter productive and I should have maintained my aggressiveness. Tim Thomas who I had traded for Pietrus started knocking down buckets including a few 3's. They actually cut the lead to 9 with just over 2 minutes left, so I had to call timeout and bring the starters back in. Immediately I scored and got a stop. I became aggressive again, looking for the first opportunity to score. They were mostly 3's by my CAP and Quentin Richardson. I'm glad I made them. To add insult to injury, I hit a 3 at the buzzer to give my CAP 30 for the game.

It will be cool if I get to the conference finals and play against them again.

Use Detroit and unleash the two monsters that are Kwame and Walter!

EDIT: My bad, I thought he was using last season's rosters.

So I thought about the Pacers. This is a weird team with huge loads of potential but strucutre problems.

Ford, Tinsley and Jack as PGs .. so one can be traded to get a decent post player which the team is lacking (Nesterovic, Murphy, Foster, Shawne Williams).
Williams is pretty decent though. A good scorer.

The main goal is to create plays for Danny Granger who is certainly the most gifted player on the roster. With him at SF Mike Dunleavy has to play SG. But actually I hate this guy (who likes him ?). But Marquis Daniels and Flip Murray are both players with actually no ups. Brandon Rush has a nice offensive game, but its hard to use him properly.

But I dunno why, for me this is quite a challenge to play with the Pacers. I think I will play with them.

But in Real Life I have to say: What the fuck did the Pacers do in the offseason ??
