That was Zanshadow's suggestion, not mine. I don't buy the "superstar carrying a team on his shoulders" Myth. Maybe for some streches, maybe a few games, but for a series?

Pierce is the best player on his team....that's the Truth....

Pierce was easily the best player in the NBA Finals that included Kobe & Garnett....that's the Truth....

As for Pierce being the best player in the World, well that's delusional....that's almost as bad as Stephon Marbury saying he was the best PG in the NBA....

I guess the Truth hurts....

The thing is, even if it is the truth as some might be moved to argue, for Pierce to say it himself like that is conceited and it's silly for him to suggest otherwise.

Certainly a possibility, it wouldn't be the first time a public figure's words have been taken out of context. Of course even if he is really that conceited, it doesn't change the fact he is indeed a star player in the league, a champion and the reigning Finals MVP.

PP is better than KG. I think they are both great players, KG is better Defensively, but he cant take a game over like pierce can.

Yeah, Pierce carried the Cs for most of the playoffs. Remember when Ray Ray was off with his shooting touch and KG has his off nights as well? Pierce carried the team there.

I remember when Arenas wrote a same manner of being the best in one of his blogs. I guess both of them have their experience and accomplishments to support their statements...

I think he really feels that way and I'm certain its going to be some ppl trying to take it to him next year not just cause they are the champs and he was finals MVP but because of these statements.

He's entitled to feel that way and that confidence obviously has helped him succeed in his NBA career but to suggest he's not being conceited is a bit weird. If you're going to boast, go ahead and boast if you feel you must but don't say you're not being boastful.
