12 minute scores

Postby Adrian on Thu Nov 13, 2003 9:24 pm

Hiya,

What is your final scores using 12 minute quarters?

I want to play 12 minutes, but not if the scores are going to be like previous Live series.

Even if you don't play 12 minute quarters.

Just qoute the minutes you play and your full time scores.

ok this is superstar 12 min, gamecube version..all with spurs

PHX@SAN - 138-93 L
135 is too high, checked forum, got ideas for sliders for next game
SAN@DEN - 103-90 L
close game (68-67 going into 4th), but then Lenard went crazy on threes in the 4th (6/6) adjusted threes a tiny bit
NYK@SAN - 108 - 100 L
knicks shoot a crap load of threes, and shoot horrible still lose!
SAN@MEM - 120 - 99 - W
finally a win, tho memphis shoots 54 threes, and makes 7. Most shot by Posey for some reason???
MIA@SAN - 94-93 - L
lose it on the final play with a stupid foul, still too many threes attempted
LAL@SAN - 108 - 96 - W
still too many threes attempted and shot at poor percentage, something needs to be done..
DAL@SAN - 113-108 - W
Dallas attempts HALF the number of threes as my previous 4 opponents (26) compared with the high 50's before hand. I made some changes to my D, and also before the game started, swtiched user control and changed their matchups etc

Im still working on my sliders, Ive noticed that the sliders are a very personal thing that needs to be done by yourself, with "help" from others. I think I'll have it down pat in the next 10 games.

Realistically, my scores are a "tad high" for the spurs, who usually score in the high 80's - mid 90's, and keep teams less then that.

Allstar, 8 minutes....first game in a season as NY Knicks.
Game was very realstic and the 110 isn't too high for 8 minutes, cause they kicked my ass on the conversions all the time (meaning, they grabbed a def rebound and raced passed my D).

Players scores were very realistic except for the number of blocks

Entire Game Orlando New York

Points 110 67
Bench Scoring 36 16
Field Goals 46/80 26/64
Field Goal % .575 .406
3 Point FG 4/8 3/8
3 Point % .500 .375
Free Throws 14/18 12/20
Free Throw % .778 .600
Rebounds 38 30
Off. Rebounds 2 5
Def. Rebounds 36 25
Blocks 4 14
Steals 9 2
Assists 16 11
Turnovers 9 22
Fouls 12 14

Thanks for that trey, very nice info.

Once you get it down pat, if you do not mind could you post your sliders on here, I know it's alot but I'll appreciate it :)

Lowest scoring game I've had on 12 minute quarters is 93-86. I'm still tweaking the sliders to get the best results on both All-Star and Superstar.

Cheers for your reply Andrew

Im hoping the scored for a 12min Q isn't too large, as I love my scores to be realistic. Unrealistic scores have plauged live in my opinion.

If anyone got any other score to post then please do so....

About the superstar difficulty level, I noticed in 2003 that Superstar was very difficult to handle, maybe it was just me, but 2000 seems easier, has EA Sports beefed up the AI on superstar level?

Oh yuh, Andrew, do you know why there is no in game save in NBA Live? That was one of the nicest one percenter feature there was, maybe Tim knows?

Thanks for your replies.

I don't know why the in-game save feature is yet to make a return. Maybe next year.

110 points in 8 mins quarter is VERY unrealistic, maybe not for the 1980's NBA, but havent you looked around lately? teams are only scoring 70's to 80's in 12 mins...

110 points with 16 mins left to play is crazy, its almost 4 points per min, the end score would be like 165!

well I got flogged by the Jazz
UTA@SAN - 110-88 - L

very good rounded game, I missed a crap load of FT's, shot poorly (37%) while they shot 46%

only gripe about my last few games, and it was happening throughout, is when the CPU gets bogged down in my D, the shot clocks running out, the ball gets swung to big guys in the perimeter and they hit it!
Ive had;
White
Ostertag
Clark
Borchardt * 2!
Mutombo

all hit back breaking threes in the 4th with the clock running down...

I just played the 12 minutes quarters and I scored like 170 points in the super star level at the end. I didn't adjust the sliders at all, so they should be all at the default setting.

By the way, I just had an incredible game, my Orlando Magic went into overtime with the Detroit Pistons. My Mcgrady missed a jumper with 3 secs left in overtime, and guess who screwed me... Chauncy Billups!!! He made a 3 pointer from half court to beat the buzzer... So at the end I lost by 3, that was the best game I have ever had from playing NBA live series!!

continuing my little story for this thread..

SAN@NETS - 116 - 104 - W

three point attempts seem to be lessening

after my next game I'll work out the averages of the stats

edit: Ive gone back and changed some of my scores, they were off the top of my head before, they changed a few points here and there

I'm playing a Dynasty with Orlando Magic on Superstar Level 12 min Q and I'm having a great time with my games.

Usually games finish with one team just above 100 and the other team just under 100 (for example 103 - 98). Rebounds are perfect, from 45 to 55 and also shooting %, with some quarter less than .400 and other way better, for a total % around .450.

I've started with sliders posted by someone here around and then I've tweaked them while playing. Those sliders are good, but the Man To Man Defense causes too many 3 pointers and there are almost no deflections/interceptions/steals.

If I continue to have good results in my next games I'll be glad to post my settings.

the man to man does exactly what you said, so I upped the sliders that have stuff to do with D...it worked out ok I believe..

next game

SAN@PHI - 110 - 115 - L
no Iverson, I have a 12 pt lead in the 4th, miss 12 straight shots, lose! Duncan scores 62! LOL

so after 10 games my teams avgs are: (im going to be talking about 2002-2003 avgs that I found in another post to compare!)

Points For/Per game - 103.1
Points Againsr/Per Game - 107.5

NOTE: League avg was 94 points in a game, best was 103 worst 84

(conclusion: sliders involving offense may need to be limited more/up D/slow pace of game a few more notches)

FG% - 44.9%
league avg was 44%, best 46%, worst 41%

(conclusion: pretty spot on, need to work out how to decrease points, while not affecting FG%)

3% - 18.2% (I suck at em)
league was 34%, best 38%, worst 31%

(conclusion: need to up threes, same dilemma, lower scoring, but up a shooting %)

FT% - 66%
league dont know
FTM/FTA - 12.6/19.1
league avg 24 attempts best 29, worst 19

(conclusion: close, probably find my fouls per game dont match league avg, need to up foul frequency sliders.)

Offensive Rebounds - 6.9
league 12 best 15, worst 10

(needs to be upped, but Im getting more as I get used to the game)

Defensive Rebounds - 49.8
NBA avg 30 best 33, worst 28

(way too many boards, due to lot of FGAs)

Assists - 25.4
avg 21 Utah the best at 25

(close, would go down if PPG went down)

Steals - 1.6
avg 7 with 10 the best, 6 the worst

(I dont agressively press the steal button, I only use my PF/C on D still, i could use some more)

blocks - 6.6
avg 5 best 6 Spurs anyways!

(very good I like)

Turnovers - 10.2
avg 14

(CPU deserves some more D)

next 10 games im going to keep and record my opponents end game stats and avg them out, while also keeping an eye on my own, then I'll redo some sliders, hopefully I can get my team above .500 by then, Im 4-6 at the moment with two losses when I had the game sewn up!

duncan avgs 29ppg, 11 boards, 3 blocks, 3 assists, and 0 steals!

i spent 10mins quarter to play a game, this is realistic for me. I use Cavs match up with the Denver, this is statistic in a game:
Cavs-King James--29points, 10asts, 4rebs
Ricky Davis--21points, 9rebs, 5asts
Darius Miles--4points  , 7rebs, 5asts

Denver-Melo--38points  , 7rebs
Andre Miller(Player of the game)--22points, 14asts

the result: Denver beats the Cavs 100:95. :?

Here are my scores.....

Notes:
- I don't have an analog gamepad (i have a ps one but yet to find an adaptor), which really sucks cause i keep getting pushed away and i can't create any chances to shoot the mid-long range jumpers. Still, i kept trying to take it to the hole with my guards or pound it in with the PF/C.
- I'm playign on All-Star, 12 minutes
- I tweaked the sliders according to the settings in this post:
http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~nbalive/ph ... php?t=9238
- game speed of 37
- and finally, I just realized that the rebounds are much too high so i will be adjusting those too

-VC led scorers with about 25+ points, I was leading at the half but I wasn't able to keep the offensive going cause they kept clogging up the middle and i couldn't break any ankles. And my D kinda sucked dwn the stretch
Game Toronto(me) Indiana

Points 83 97
Bench Scoring 24 26
Field Goals 31/84 40/92
Field Goal % .369 .435
3 Point FG 5/16 6/21
3 Point % .312 .286
Free Throws 16/23 11/18
Free Throw % .696 .611
Rebounds 57 50
Off. Rebounds 6 3
Def. Rebounds 51 47
Blocks 10 7
Steals 1 4
Assists 15 13
Turnovers 11 5
Fouls 10 14

- VC led the way again, but more or less the same as the game above.
Entire Game Philadelphia Toronto(me)

Points 88 79
Bench Scoring 17 14
Field Goals 38/99 31/87
Field Goal % .384 .356
3 Point FG 4/19 0/11
3 Point % .211 .000
Free Throws 8/17 17/23
Free Throw % .471 .739
Rebounds 55 62
Off. Rebounds 7 10
Def. Rebounds 48 52
Blocks 2 8
Steals 7 1
Assists 18 7
Turnovers 10 18
Fouls 23 13

- for ha ha's i decided to us houston and i randomed a home team. At the half i was winning by about 20-25 with a .500+ FG% cause i just kept throwing it down low to yao or Griffin.

I then let my bench get some good quality minutes, but they came back within 10 so i sent the starting lineup back in just in case (the bench played out the last minute still though).

Yao got 20+ points 10+ rebounds, and Francis got 20+points, if my memory serves me correctly. Also i think Baron Davis got 30+.

Entire Game Houston(me) New Orleans

Points 117 107
Bench Scoring 38 12
Field Goals 50/92 44/101
Field Goal % .543 .436
3 Point FG 4/20 5/33
3 Point % .200 .152
Free Throws 13/21 14/16
Free Throw % .619 .875
Rebounds 48 49
Off. Rebounds 7 9
Def. Rebounds 41 40
Blocks 11 6
Steals 4 4
Assists 23 11
Turnovers 11 12
Fouls 10 20

after tweaking for a while i found that if u put all the scoring sliders for yourself and the cpu at 40 it's very realistic....
