In the off season of the dynasty mode, re-sign your players, go through with draft, but leave one or two roster spots left.
If you think you can't sign a star just because you are over the cap limit, think again. First look at the list of players, and find one who's overall rating is over 80 and expects 4 years of contract or less.
ex.
Allen Iverson- 90 expects 2 years, 10 million

When you try to sign him you should only be able to offer 5.6 million. keep this but increase the amount of years from the contract by at least one year, so Allen's contract should look like this:
90 overall
3 years
5.6 million

Offer the contract and he will usually say yes

It might work for the PC version, but it might only work for the 360.
