i hate you for the topic name cause now i look like an idiot making a seperate thread. anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy, i am a huge diablo fan and cant wait for this game(though i am sure i will have to for another 2 years). barb and witch doctor so far, cant wait to see the other 3 characters though i assume they will follow the same idea of d2 classes, going with a defensive tank(pally) a ranged(amazon) and of course the offensive caster(sorc). my opinion is they will go with a sorc as the second return char but the other 2 will also be new, maybe ranger and tempest or something
edit: not sure if you know this or care about it lean but
www.diabloii.net is a good site for info and if you are into irc they got a chat room also

I got this thread's title from Blizzard's site. Found it very bad-ass like.

I got goosebumps when I saw the announcement. Though I hope they bring back the Paladin for III.
I've been into diabloii.net before, for the kid-stuff character editors.

Thanks for reminding me Sauru.
Saw some gameplay videos too, glad they maintained the isometric view. And looks like they'll be implementing the Havok engine (the ragdoll engine) in-game.
I better get my PC upgraded for this or I'll miss half of my life.

Fairly familiar with Diablo but never actually played it myself... the trailer looks absolutely amazing though, and the gameplay videos look good too, though seems to maintain the overall same scheme as before.

What kind of Asian HASN'T played Diablo 2? You're so Asian that it hurts and yet you have not played Diablo. Step yo game up, sucka.
PS. I'm amped just as anybody. This and Star Craft 2 is definitely going to be killing my social life.
Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:05 am
Maybe I ain't Asian either.
Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:21 am
You play ultimate frisby and like the jabbawockeez. 'Nuff said, you're Asian BRUH.

i agree that the topic is better than mine, and i also agree that the best thing they did was keep the cam set as it was before. the gameplay vid really got me pumped up. seriously hyped now and that sucks cause i remember the wait before announcement and launch of d2.
i am cool if they bring back the paladin if they remove that damn hammer, i hate hate hate hammerdins with a passion. everyone has 15 of them, sickens me

Really good looking. Damn I loved D2 and now I have to w8 for D3 after getting teazed with those nice vids.

My guess is the assassin will be brought back.
I kill hammerdins.
My specialization with my pally is charge alongside frenzy/shield bash. Charge them fucking hammerdins to a corner where they will be worthless then do the hurting.
Now there's two new games for me to wait for and drool over (SC2 and D3).
The witch doctor is like a combination of necro (summoning, undead, curses) and druid (summoning, fire only elemental).
No more of my favorite character, the necromancer
Mon Jun 30, 2008 10:47 pm
I liked the Necromancer too, that cool old dude with bones as armor.
I used the Barbarian in II and in LOD. And when I saw the Whirlwind in the gameplay video with all the blood splattering around. I said "Wow."
And at last this Diablo III is real. I remember the hoax YouTube videos from the past that combines cutscenes from Fable and smacked in the fake Diablo III logo.

yeah i agree i am gonna miss billy idol but i think the witch doctor looks to be even more interesting. right now he is my first choice.
barb was my first choice in d2 and to be honest he will probably end up being the one i use first in d3. i will want to use the witch doctor first but i tend to always pick the tank class to start out in all rpg/action/mmo games
lastly, if you are as big of a diablo fan as i am(and you look like you are) then this could get to be one big topic lol. i am fucking obsessed and will probably come here every damn day to see if there is anything to talk about lol

I would pick the Paladin, just like I did in D2 and LOD. Cant remember how many FanaZeals I had. I just love the fact that you slay everything with Maximum Attackspeed and still wont get hurt since Holy Shield grants you 16k defense.

I never got into Diablo 2, but that looks awesome. Especially with some co-op.

i remember my thorns paladin he was pretty different to play. walk around getting hit letting the monsters kill themselves. worthless vs casters so you needed some offense and zeal was great, also some vengeance.

Plus the awesome Aura sounds. I used to play with them when I assigned them from F1 to F9 (I can barely remember).
Tue Jul 01, 2008 1:18 pm
lol yeah, i remember everytime i was a paladin i would constantly switch auras just for fun, probably annoyed alot of people.
one thing i never got organized was a all paladin group that all used different auras. that was my initial idea when the game first came out but none of my friends were down with it lol. i thought we would have marched through the game with all the auras stacked

Too bad I haven't played LoD up to Act V. I tried to play the thing all over again using a Druid, but the character is just gay.

when i rank the 7 characters in order of fav to least fav both the druid and assassin always bottomed the list for me. the necro, amazon, sorc, and barb all were my fav at one point in time, i even gave the paladin alot of attention(i jump char to char often, never stick with just one) but those 2, man i could never get into them. i was into the bear druid, alot, but he sucked. killed so damn slow and god help you if you fought a frost monster. the assassin was actually popular around the community but she has always remained in 7th for me, dont think i ever got one to level 30 to be honest

That's because you haven't played the Druid maxed out with the Raven skill. The birds are coming!
That was fun, I specialized my Druid in that along with bear transformation and bear summoning.
First char. I played in D2 is the necro. Tried out all possible specializations. Most notable are: a curse necro I tried Confuse-Attract to watch the monsters fight amongst themselves and the Iron Maiden (thorns) curse coupled with Bone Wall/Prison. Even tried the Army of Darkness specialty of having the max skeleton army, before the patch that limits your total skeletons. Necrobomber (corpse explosion specialty); Poison Nova-Terror combo; Teethmancer (maxed out Teeth skill, fuck Bone Spear/Spirit); even the melee daggermancer with Golem pet. Never got much into reviving dead monsters because of the time limit.
Paladin is my second favorite. The shield basher (holy shield-smite) was fun to play but I eventually stuck to having skill specialization with one against hordes and one for bosses/PvP with my Fanatic-Vengeance-Charge combo. Also tried creating a hammerdin but got too bored and disadvantageous in small areas where all of the Blessed Hammers can't appear and protect you.
Also tried a barb specializing in leap, melee sorcereress with her fire weapon enchant-ice armor-thunder combo, and the assassin with that teleporting kick and combo strikes of hers.
Never played or leveled up an Amazon. That one is in my bottom list alongside the assassin (her skills are just to plain for me).

seeing as you were a necro alot did you ever use the blood golem and iron maiden trick? that was great, it was pretty much impossible for you and your golem to ever die though i think its been fixed by now
Sun Jul 06, 2008 2:59 pm
Blood golem kicks ass. My peers were into playing D2 with unique classes, so I got used with the barbarian. Whirlwind (in my right-click button) + press-hold the Mana potion shortcut key = invincibility.

Yeah I did. I used the blood golem trick with my first necro even before I knew that it was a popular tactic, pre-patched.
