I feel kinda bad for posting this now since with 1 more reply this thread is going to go onto another page so no one will read this but pastapadre has this to say about it a couple of days ago.

Not much to read into as far as hints considering the ghosted cover art is the 08 Gilbert Arenas cover. Of the features announced to this point a guard seems to be favored if they are looking to tie the player into a theme. I’m sticking with my Deron Williams prediction.

Very sneaky, it's surprising none of us noticed that before. I guess we weren't looking for it seeing as though they usually tease us with the silhouette of the actual cover player. Still, we can rule out anyone else appearing on the cover of an NBA game this year and most likely anyone who's appeared on the cover before.

Still, why would they put Arenas right next to it as the silhouette?
I'm 100% sure that the right silhouette will turn out to be our cover boy.

Well according to the leak, its Tony Parker and no one guessed him. The silhouettes dont look like him to me either.

He's appeared on the French cover before, so perhaps the trailer is misleading?

Well that's pushing it a bit. It wouldn't matter to hardcore basketball sim fanatics, but if a random Joe was browsing games, he would rather pick up a Eva Longoria..uh...Tony Parker game than a Vitaly Potapenko (who?) game.

So yeah, don't look at it solely from your point of view, look at it from a "casual fan" point of view as well. The cover athlete should atleast be a little known/spoken about.

Yeah i totally agree with you on that, but people that go on this forum are supposed to be (or to have been) NBA Live fans, so I don't see how they can say that the game is not good because a player they don't like is on the cover.

As far as i can see, Im not the only one "un-lucky" with the cover boy selection...on the other side, no one complained about T-Mac...
The cover looks good...although they should have put Parker last year, when he won the Finals and got selected for the MVP...thats what i think...lucky me, that there are other covers too...so, Deng for me please...

I actually don't like Tony Parker, and I would have prefered someone else on the cover, so my opinion is not based on that. However, I do think that Parker isn't getting the recognition (is that english?) he should.
