Does HD really enhance the experience? Don't get me wrong, I'm not a technophobe but I think the novelty would wear off for me rather quickly. I mean, beyond the HD presentation the content is the same no matter what.

Seriously, its a really sweet picture....like.....really sweet.....I still enjoy it without it being HD. But it is a lot better quality in HD and you do notice it quite a bit.

Yeah I could go back to normal tv, lol. I don't have HD at home, my neighbour has it, I just go and leech off them when the NBA is on.
Yep, widescreen too Lax. I think that's probably the biggest reason it is a lot better.

If Foxtel offered me some kind of upgrade deal that didn't involve a contract I'd consider it.

That's Us! Some Telly marketer rang up a while ago (over a year now) and offered us Foxtel, with out a contract. We actually listened to him and the whole thing was legit and now look we're we are. That's one of the reasons we got it. No Contract

I guess it's review time. What did you make of the coverage this year?

I thought the regular season was fairly strong again with four games per week and all but a couple of teams being shown at least once. The quality of coverage dipped a bit in the Playoffs with games limited to the weekend and usually the same two series in each round but picking up both Conference Finals series was a very welcome improvement to their postseason coverage.

Still very much worth the money in my opinion, though as always I'd like to see a touch more variety, especially in the Playoffs. Obviously obtaining the rights to show certain games is an issue but hopefully arrangements can be made in that regard.

Less miami and chicago would've been nice...

less one sided games.

good coverage though - 4 games a week was pretty awesome, even if most of the games turned to shit...

I wouldn't agree that there were too many Bulls games as there were less than last year (certainly no more at least), though the good ones were few and far between and their performance didn't exactly warrant that much coverage. Overexposure of one team isn't as much of an issue during the regular season now they're showing the four games per week. I know the number of games for each team probably favoured the usual suspects but I didn't really notice it this year.

This year it seemed to matter less because the major teams they show had big trades.

Lakers, Dallas, Suns, even Miami all had trades that made watching them 3x a week more tolerable.

The start of the year was fucking stupid though. Literally every ESPN game was Lakers, and when LA wasn't playing, ESPN didnt show a game.

I'd actually forgotten about the glut of Lakers games at the beginning of the season. There was a bit of variation in the opponents though so that made things a bit more interesting, as did the Gasol trade.

With Bulls having either Rose or Beasley, I'd hope to see them a couple of times during the season....

I presume they'll have their fare share of games as long as Fox Sports continues to cover the regular season.

Oh god... with Miami and Chicago having the top 2 picks, you just KNOW we are going to see 17,000 Miami games...

Chicago I don't mind so much, because, well... they won more than 10 games this year.

I'd say there'll be a few Sonics and Blazers games this year as well, especially the latter with Oden making his debut.
