PC Exclusive screenshots

Postby jwkjng on Thu Nov 06, 2003 3:52 am

I went to the gamer's hell and saw the PC screenshots.
They are not much different from console versions and the resolution was bad, but one thing i can tell is they are ready to ship the game!!! finally!!!
They released the video and screenshots. They normally do this right around when they are about to ship.
Just a few more days.

I don't think the resolution looked to hot either. At max 800*600, I have
1280*1024 in Live 2003.

The players look much thinner than in the 2003 version, the feets is bigger, and that's about it.

I'm guessing they were either running a beta..or played the game with lowered graphical settings. I doubt the final will look like that.

I like (for example) in picture #3 the way iverson is holding his hands after the shot, and the net looks really sweet to me too.

I also think it is low-res... it must be or why would the name IVERSON under the player be so damn big (see pic#4!) HAHAH unless the guy has some sort of windows accesibiltiy option on because he's blind lol

PS thug that avatar picture looks really cool, i likethe liquidity of it.

You know, when I first saw screenies and videos of Live 2004, I thought the courts were too friggin small.

But after watching some recent NBA games... and seeing more screenshots... i believe the court size is just right.

And yes, I agree that the feet look big on players. But from what I can see from these screenies, the size of players look pretty real too.

Looks good, but the faces are terrible. The court size looks good.

Duncan looks like a gorilla in that pic, but overall it doesnt look too bad, like others said, I doubt this is the final version.

i'm pretty sure the grapics should be much better when we play it by ourselves (though we are still waiting ... :( )

those pics are compressed a lot
and i think the detail settings of the game was set to medium to high

if we (and our machine) can play at max detail.
It should be great !! (Y)

regardless of what we do, it wont look too different from the consoles. I think it would be nice though if someone could make a patch to allow for the player models used in 2003 to be copied over to 2004. i think the models in 2003 looks so much better.

if 2004 and 2003 models are different, in terms of the fsh file size and location of eyes and mouths and such, then they will have to be converted manually, just like 2001 -> 2003.

only my opinion though.

I think these pics look cheesy not because of a low resolution but the player models being set to a lower detail setting. They just don't seem to ahve nearly as many polys as the ones in 2003. I just hope they bothered to optimize the code this year for PCs.

to me the pics look great. i don´t care about resolution of the pics ´cause graphics will definately look better in final version. i like the tv camera. looks to me more realistic. seems as though they´ve changed the angle to a higher position and really looks like on tv. also the ugly rims of the ps2-version seem to be reshaped and finally rim and net look quite ok. to me very promising pics.
