This game is pretty unorganized. I think all of the questions have been answered already, but its really hard to follow.

18 - False - Don't see someone post the answer - maybe because of how easy it is. :P

It would be easier if people quoted the questions they're answering and for Andrew to mark the questions that have been answered.

Most people seem to be following it OK but given this is only the first round, I expect there are things I can fix up for future rounds. Marking the questions that have been answered sounds like a good idea, I'll do that from now on.

I'll also have to figure something out about the True/False section as I didn't consider that the answers becomes very easy once someone answers it incorrectly. I might change that section to multiple choice instead, any suggestions in this regard are most welcome.

Questions 14, 15, 17 and 18 are still on the board.

Andrew, just a question about the true and false...

I think that when we say if its true, there is no need to specificatem but when its false i think that we need to give some info to correct that sentence.

Because I can say "it's false" and I don't know why but i get the point... it's a bit unfair

Nice game, well done Andrew :D

Screw mulitple choice. Let the T or F questions be disregarded if someone already answered it whether the answer be right or wrong.

14: How many times did rivals Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain meet in the NBA Finals?

  2. No team has ever overcome a 3-1 series deficit in the Finals. True

I thought about doing that but that potentially cuts five points out of the round. Round One was basically a test run though so I'll tinker with it and try to improve things for future rounds.

Make it a right minus wrong for T-F. If they get it wrong, the point equivalent is subtracted from their score. You could also half the point equivalent of the question if it's been answered wrongly

14 has already been answered before by pdub, don't give away free points Andrew :P

About the 15th question. the correct answer has already been said I guess, stil I want to clear things out.
Here's a screen of the starting 5 of Game 5 of the '77 Finals.

I googled everyone of them, and I came up with Erving, McGinnis and Jones on the Sixers, and only Lucas on the Blazers.
Appearently Dave Twardzik did not start. So 4 has to be the correct answer.

Oops, thanks for the heads up there. And yes, those were the four players the question was referring to. :)

So ends the first round of our trivia. A bit of a shaky start as we're feeling our way in this but it seems you guys like the idea so I'll clean up the rules and procedures a bit and post the second round soon. I'm thinking of going with shadowgrin's suggestion of taking the T/F questions off the board if they're answered correctly. I'll probably add some more questions to compensate and make T/F kind of a bonus round worth extra points for anyone who wants to have a shot at them while they're on the board.

The rules have been updated. Changes are marked in red.

How the game is played
  1. Each round will consist of twenty-one (21) questions divided into the following categories.

Free Throws: Worth one point each, nothing too taxing here.
Field Goals: Worth two points each, may require research.
Three Pointers: Worth three points each, harder questions, some historical stuff.
True or False: True or False questions. Two points if answered correctly the first time, one point if answered correctly on the second attempt or by someone else.
Bonus Question: A bonus question that you may use to make up a few points.
  2. New players may jump in at any time. It is not necessary to compete in every round.
  3. Each player may answer up to three (3) questions per post. You may not double post to answer more than three questions at a time. In the event that you forget to post the answers to three questions, you may double post providing you are not answering more than three questions at a time.
  4. Questions that are answered incorrectly are free to be answered again. Questions may be selected from any category, as long as they haven't already been answered.
  5. No editing posts to change answers!
  6. Points will not be shared. Whoever answers the question first will get the points.
  7. The list of questions will be updated as each series of answers is confirmed to indicate a question is no longer on the board.
  8. If you know an answer that has been posted to be incorrect, feel free to jump in and answer the question yourself. Please note that this will count as one of your three questions per post.
  9. When posting your answers, be sure to either list the question numbers or quote the questions you are answering.
  10. Bonus points may be offered on selected questions. When applicable, the amount of bonus points will be listed alongside the question.
  11. The eventual trivia champion will be decided by the total number of points earned.

Round Two will be posted shortly. Depending on the response, I might add some extra questions in future rounds.
