Mid-Range Jumpers...

Postby Se7en>>Dimension on Sun Nov 02, 2003 11:44 am

Is it just me or is it pretty hard to make? I'm 1 for 17 in my current game with LeBron James. I've been wide open for most of the shots too.

i dont know about 2004 but in past nbalives it was pretty difficult to make a mid range J, coz the games were very specific in sciring areas, like 3pt or inside,
what i want to know is b4 nba2003 ther was a problem with players shooting the ball behing the backboard and then in 2003 they went too far and made that shot a 99% even if ur a 5'11 laying it up against 3 7 footers, how is it in 2004?
and with simulating can a players actualy get higher stats if he is isolated on a team, for eg, i got Gilbert areanas to be the best player and made sure there were no subs for him and he still avraged 14ppg 5 apg?

i really really really dont understand why people say its so hard to hit jumpers and 3's. Come on now, i play on Superstar and my game tempo is 100, and i didnt even adjust my sliders much, and jumpers are 75% of my game.

You have to learn to release it right, thats how u hit them, you just cant just tap it and such like last year, u have to practice with it, its quite easy after th at.

Most 3's I can hit fine but jumpers give me problems. I release it at the peak of their jump...where you usually release it in real life.

I jus' wanna be able to hit a mid-range jumper when I'm wide open, like most NBA players can 75-90% of the time. The way Live 'o3 was I got trained into working towards those unblockable layups all the time and my shot chart was just this massive green blob under the basket with a few red X's scattered about... still waiting on the PC version but at least i'm pretty confident that sliders can fix this.

I figured it out while practicing. I usually shoot at the absoloute peak, you should shoot just as you're going down.

If you choose the CPU shot control is it still hard to shot mid-rangers? Cos I never user the USER shot control on previous Lives. I plan to use CPU again when i get 2003.

Well...>LeBron can Bomb Threes....Shaq Bombed a Three.....Even that motherfucking Center for the Cavaliers DeSagana Diop can Shoot a three! But this game is very realistic...cause LeBron (me) shot an Airball earlier today in my game it was a 3 too!

In 2003, CPU shot control wouldn't let you go up for the shot and then pass it off, or hold the ball and wait for the defender to come back down.

Actually you could pass out, and what do you mean by hold the ball, if you mean a pump fake, yes you could do that too.

I am also tempted to use CPU shot control for a few games and see how it works out.

The only time I have trouble hitting a midrange jumper is when I don't release the shot at the right time. But I don't pull-up, I hit someone who's standing by themselves and let them catch and shoot. Regardless, there's a slider for User midrange jump shooting...you can just slide it up.

And Old School Fool...we're trying to cut down on the foul language.

Midrange jumper is a lost art....look at the scores of recent NBA games, no one is making shots!!
2013 is the year?
Thanks to Vl@d, Leftos and all the other patchers for their hard work.

Mid-range jumpers are not that hard to hit! You just don't shoot with someone in your face and release it right and it should be fine!

i honestly think ur guys abit over exedurate with the jumpers!
oh, LBJ got 1-17 thats so realistic!! go nuts!!
it depends on what shots u take. Remember, its a computer, compure has paters that can be followed, and after playin ghte game most of u will realize the patters.
In 2003 it was easy to get high % coz it was easy to get close to the hoop, not dunk it every itme but very close, and ther were ceratin andgle from which players could shoot very well. Another thing that was fixed and over fixed form nba 2001 was that player who had 80 inside like R.Horry could no make the shots, in 2003 a pg with 66 can make on over giants!
its all in patterns, i bet u anyone could take the worst player and get his 50 pts with high %!
If u want the % to be realistic, wtch a game and straigh away play nba live and shoot execly te way they shoot in nba, and ull see how low % shooting u will get!!

LJ shooting 1 for 17 isn't realistic.
