I picked my PS2 copy up from morley in wa today around lunchtime.
i've had it pre ordered for about 2 months...so i was pretty stoked when i got it.
the game is wicked, a few minor issues but after playing it for a while i got used to them.
trying to get all the rosters right will be a bitch tho!! :D

I went to EB early yesterday and they said it was coming out later in the day. So I pre-ordered it yesterday morning and picked up my copy at about 2 PM yesterday. I love the game!
The defense in it is first rate. I'm still not very good yet. But hey that is what you get for playing on superstar right from the start! :D

You have to play defense in this game, or you will get blown out. That's not a problem though, since playing defense in Live 2004 is much easier. Raising your hands and jumping to block a shot will throw a defender off, and if you make an effort to play D, the game won't just be a shootout.

Me and my cousin went to EB at Wetherill Park, they didn't have it.

Then we went to Liverpool EB, they didn't have it.

Off to Blacktown and Mt Druitt EB, didn't have it too. :o

Then as a last resort, went to Castle Hill... and DANG nabbit we got it!!

Too bad he had to go home, but hopefully I can drop by his place tomorrow and give it a go. I'm excited already....

I think 2004 is too similar to 2K3 (AI on cover) which I loathed. Damn these weird ratings too. If you're bloke is wide open, but average on the three ball - your shot won't even go anywhere near in!

Disgruntled =(

I've got the PS2 version, but when I went to pick it up I asked about the Xbox version, and it's out now. If your local stores don't have it, they've either sold out or are slow getting it.

I'm not sure about the PC version being released here November 11th. I'm guessing it will be out here closer to December.

Andrew, earlier you mentioned that you have to make an effort to play D, what does playing D involve exactly?

Raising your hands or jumping to block a shot when it's put up. Players shoot a fairly realistic percentage, but they will torch you if you are lazy on D. Raising your arms and jumping to block or at least force your opponent to alter his shot (another great feature (Y)) is an effective way of preventing easy baskets.

That's what I was waiting for! That's much more realistic. Defense isn't just about steals and blocks anymore. I can't wait till the PC version.

XBLink

Postby SaTaN on Thu Nov 06, 2003 11:44 pm

Xblink, is basically, a tunnel program for the xbox, what it does, is trick the xbox into thinking there are other xbox's connected over system link. But you actually connected to the internet. Basically, it's a free online system, which works great for chipped consoles.

I know the main reason, I bought my Xbox was to watch movies (DivX/Xvid, real media) on it. It has a chip, which is why I was able to import a copy of nba live from the states. But any Xbox that has a chip, will be disabled from live, so that leaves XBlink as the only other alternative.

And in the case of NBA Live 2004, since there is no live implementaion, it's the only possible method of getting the game going online.

I tried to explain it, as well and simple as i could... you can find out lots more at http://www.xboxlink.co.uk

More so, I'm fairly advanced when it comes to networking, so if anyone has any questions or anyting, just holla me...

This is my story, i went into Harvey Norman today where i have a pre-ordered PC version. I was gonna cancel it for a PS2 version cause i am sick of waiting. but the guy there looked it up for me and said the PC version is comin out on the 11th (tuesday).

He rang up the suppliers but they weren't open (I think this was because they are in a different state> time difference). So he gave me there website http://www.powergames.com.au. I went home and checked the release date, it was the 11th. But i doubt this will be right anyway, since they are always late. so i went down and got the PS2 version. I think ill be gettin '04-PC around christmas.
