Postby Lancerz on Sun May 18, 2008 8:43 am

Here are my pc specs:
Core2duo E8400
8800gts 640mb
gigabyte mb
4gb ram
vista ultimate x64

Decided id buy the game since it was only $9.99 at best buy and i cant get more than 25 fps when playing this game...ive searched all around and cant seem to find a answer, hopefully someone here can help, thanks in advance.

Try running the game using only one core. Bring up the Windows Task Manager, select the processes tab, right click nbalive08.exe and set the "affinity" for only one of the cpu's. You can also try compatability mode for XP or something. Games don't run very well on Vista, in general, and several people have framerate issues with the 8X00 Nvidia video card series when playing Live.

Yeah i tried both of those also but they didnt help...all of my games run better on vista though. I play COD4, Bioshock, Need for speed pro street, stalker, test drive unlimited...i can run them all at 1680x1050 maxed out and they run perfectly. This is the first game to give me problems on vista so far.

I reinstalled the game to see if that would help but it didnt, even if i set it to 640x480 with all settings on low it doesnt make a difference, i barely got 18fps on the lowest settings. Ive tried the affinity, tried the compatibality mode, and some other things but nothing seems to work.

Ok, i figured out the problem...the newer nvidia drivers will make the game run slow as ****. I went back to 169.25 and now the game runs perfectly with everything maxed out.

Well you are using onboard graphics and only have 256mb of ram...I dont think there is anything you can do to make the game run better with that setup. You need a new video card and more ram, and a better processor and you should be in business.

Don't know if this helps but when I play on my laptop the game is slow as hell unless I have my power cord plugged in. Kind of simple but if it works...

Download the new Nvidia beta drivers at 3dguru.com. It worked for me.

When you start the game try going to your settings>Gameplay> Game speed and keep pressing the "+" sign .
