Video to image file

Postby .jrmagic on Sat May 24, 2008 5:44 am

I downloaded a thing that allows me to save video files to GIF files.

The problem is, that when I open the GIF file with a program like Adobe Photoshop Elements, it shows a picture. When I preview it with Windows picture and fax viewer though, it shows a video.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
-JR

Photoshop divides the frames to layers.
So, for example, if you have a gif with 30 frames, you see 30 layers in Photoshop.

I see...

Then I all I have to do is merge down the layers?

Hell no.

What do you want to do with the gif in photoshop anyway?

You see, I need to make a wall that has a video on it in a court.

So how do you do it?

What's the point in making a .gif wallpaper? You wouldn't be able to use it anyway.

The only way to use a video as a wallpaper is to make a Quartz movie in Mac OS X.

There's a bunch of ways to use a mpeg as a wallpaper with Vista...

Well, didn't know that... You don't happen to have a link for some kind of tutorial or walk-through, do you? My sister's been asking me for months if she could do that with her Vista laptop.

Animated gif's work for me on XP last time I checked. I accidentally put that fat kid who is jumping around on a couch. It was slow, and used alot of resources, though.

How Pdub? Also, will this work with a NBA Live 07 wall? So like your playing, and you see someone dunking on the left side of the court.

There's quite a few programs such as this one:

As Pdub mentioned, it does take up quite a lot of memory, and the quality will obviously depend on the .mpeg or .avi's initial quality.
