I haven't checked out a lot of the mods for the GTA series on PC but presumably there are tools to make the process easier. GTA Garage would probably be a good place to start.

Search for the 'San Andreas Mod Installer', that's what I use(d). It installs car mods you want easily with just a few clicks.
Of course you have to find your patch first, the program just installs it for you.

What's wrong with the 360 wired? (Other than the d-pad?)

If you have problems with default drivers and games, try these: http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html

I'm using a Logitech dual analog gamepad which is great as it feels very familiar owing to its design being virtually identical to the PS2 controller. It's not a bad idea to go to the mouse when you want some precision aiming with the sniper rifle though.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

My wired 360 control the config is mangled and i tried fixing it and no luck, the trigger buttons dont work? I dont know if thats normal or not.
I did have a Logi dual analog but my friend 'borrowed' it and I never got it back, dog act by him.

EDIT: Oh, oh oh! Would vista be a reason? I just remembered. Because if something isnt working its bound to be this piece of crap OS.

Vista aint the issue, I just got a brand spankin new system with vista and what you need to do is download drivers for your controller that change the triggers from analog sticks to digital buttons.

Err, I have this USB analog controller. Is there any way that you could "carry-over" the PS2 controls into the PC USB controller?

I tried configuring it in-game, and it seems like the D-Pad cannot be assigned with a particular command.

You could try editing the configuration file that the game uses when using gamepads. Just search for it in the game folder and it's probably an unknown file type.

I've found that too, though I think some actions are assigned to the D-Pad by default. I could be mistaken though, I haven't given GTASC PC a look since I got GTA IV.
