Regular season award, sorry.
Im starting to wonder why people think Lebron was an MVP candidate. He has a great supporting cast,

Wait. What? The 30-8-7 with Ilgauskas being the only non 6-2 three point bomber who did anything of use over the entire season probably had something to do with it.

"I wonder what the NLSC would be like if people actually tried to make arguments instead of just declaring things and expecting people to support them because of their long since wasted prestige."

I don't follow. He clearly made an argument (supported by statistics) that Lebron was an MVP candidate. He didn't just declare a conclusion and demand that everyone accept it.

But zomg its pointing out the obvious. Who here didn't know Lebron averaged 30-8-7 this season?

He didn't just declare a conclusion and demand that everyone accept it.

I provided the short version of the argument for why LeBron was considered an MVP candidate as Young Buck asked why anyone would consider him. And am awaiting his questioning of the claims I made in it.

Feel free to question the claims in the argument in order to elicit further explanation and discussion. Or to continue your usual "butthurt" trolling.

Proof of this please :)

But you still pointed out the obvious, which is something you criticised me for :hump:

Young Buck asked why LeBron was considered a MVP candidate, I provided the argument in favor of him. The actual "obvious" thing I said was how it's a regular season award.

Your action was simply trolling as evidenced by your mental breakdown over someone questioning (or "attacking") it. I also never criticized you for it.

In this situation, it kinda was. They gave it to him because hes been MVP worthy his whole career and the media wanted to give him one before Lebron and Paul

All of your recent posts seem to confirm this; I don't know what else you can do on a forum besides troll when nobody is "worthy of [your] opinion."

Doesn't matter, you're ignoring the overall point I was making in order to harp on something irrelevant.

 What? So it doesn't matter what I say, you'll just quote it, compare it to something that has nothing to do with what I said and you'll think you're right? Nice.

Alright, so benji said:

You do have no interest in actually discussing anything...[a]nd you focus endlessly on the people making the claims...instead of the claims and arguments themselves.

You haven't mentioned anything about either:

1. Whether or not benji/Young Buck's cases for Lebron being an MVP candidate are legitimate.

2. How the All-Defensive team should be selected.

So you aren't discussing anything, and are instead focusing on the people posting opinions instead of the opinions themselves, which is precisely what benji suggested. Thus, what benji said had everything to do with what you said, and that's precisely why I compared your post to it.

You're still talking about the defensive teams? Holy shit! Haha... And I'm allowed to respond to statements being made. It doesn't say I'm not allowed to does it? So why are you so upset by it? Is it because I questioned the validity of Ben's awesome stats which implied that Jordan Farmer was a better defender then KG? Who knows. But the bottom line is I'm not going to waste my time with pointless arguments like "is Lebron a MVP candidate" or "Jordan Farmer is a better defender"

Also, you never posted your thoughts on either discussion, you just did what I did (responded to what I said). So maybe you should ask yourself the same questions you are asking me.

Of course you're allowed to...I didn't say anything to suggest that you couldn't. Regardless, you haven't actually exercised your right to do so. You've only made comments about the people making the statements and you haven't actually posted an opinion on either matter.
Matthew wrote:Is it because I questioned the validity of Ben's awesome stats which implied that Jordan Farmer was a better defender then KG?

You didn't question them, nor did they imply that Jordan Farmar is a better defender than Garnett. You for some reason assumed that he posted them in an attempt to lay down the law about who should be on the All-Defensive team, when in fact he noted that the stats were not only incomplete (Atlanta through Milwaukee only) but that they were only potential methods with which one could arrive at a conclusion for the selection process.
You then posted that the stats were insufficient by themselves, which he made very clear in the initial post, hence his accusation that you were stating the obvious.
Matthew wrote:Who knows. But the bottom line is I'm not going to waste my time with pointless arguments like "is Lebron a MVP candidate" or "Jordan Farmer is a better defender"

Why would you ever go into NBA Talk if you think such topics are a waste of time? That's pretty much the only type of discussion that ever springs up.

I'll gladly post my opinions, and I almost always do in the threads I post in, but by the time I saw the thread it was no longer about the original topic and had moved on to a "state of the NLSC" type of subject.

I only make comments about the people posting them? You're delusional.

You didn't question them, nor did they imply that Jordan Farmar is a better defender than Garnett.

Go read that thread again.

You then posted that the stats were insufficient by themselves, which he made very clear in the initial post, hence his accusation that you were stating the obvious.

Which is something he has done numerous times since then. Why do you think I call him hypercritical and say he contradicts himself?

Why would you ever go into NBA Talk if you think such topics are a waste of time? That's pretty much the only type of discussion that ever springs up.

You think arguing if Lebron James is a legitimate MVP candidate is not a waste of time? Or if Kevin Garnett is a better defender then Jordan Farmer is also not a waste of time? Please. They're worthless.

I'll gladly post my opinions, and I almost always do in the threads I post in, but by the time I saw the thread it was no longer about the original topic and had moved on to a "state of the NLSC" type of subject.

Blame your buddy for that.

they are only as worthless as every other topic in this or any sports forum. if you want to be involved in that topic then post if not then stay put of it. seriously every single thread here could be called worthless, just a matter if it something you are interested in talking about or not

So Sauru, why didn't you put forth an argument about who is the better defender: Jordan Farmar or KG? That's what I thought.

my opinion, i dont give a shit about that topic lol. also i was not attacking you with my post, just saying that any topic can be considered worthless. if its opinion based then clearly its worthless cause its all only a matter of opinion but if it stat/fact based then why even talka bout it if the outcome has already been proven?
