Agreed. They would've still had Marion and the chemistry intact. That would have been the best-case scenario.

I, for one, was worried you were trying to pass that off as objective fact, so I'm glad you snuck that edit in there.

Presumably they'd want to keep Iguodala and Rondo though, which leaves Rodriguez and Fernandez. That package doesn't seem likely to land a quality big.

those Euros wouldn't be traded, the package would be guys like Marion & Barbosa....no need for those guys if you have these others....I'm sure a package of Marion & Barbosa could get a quality big

No he didn't. You were arguing about Dampier a week ago; and the period at the end makes mine epic.

I wasn't arguing about Dampier in comparison to Marion/Barbosa, but Dampier in comparison to nothing.

The trade forced the Suns to change up their entire style of play, and was poor compared to the other moves Kerr could've made at the time. Hell, I'd rather have had AK47 instead of Diesel.

The owner pushed the trade of Thomas and draft picks. He had no interest in paying lux tax.

Why in hell would any GM even think about PAYING to get rid of a quality back-up big, let alone trading away picks for a couple mil?

It isnt Coangelo's fault or Kerr's fault for these moves. That should be obvious to anyone who looks into it.

But it's still Kerr's fault he traded Marion for Shaq.

My vote went to the Shaq deal. They had to change their game plan 180 degrees. Nash's dimes went down. Sure, Amare got better, but it wasn't just the "Classic Suns Basketball" anymore.

I don't think they would of either, but they would of had a much better opportunity. Plus, if Marion had to go, they could of gotten a much better player then Shaq. Pat Riley is a genius.

I still like the fact he went for it. Sure, it failed, but it was worth the gamble.

How was it worth the gamble? It failed miserably.
