2008 Playoffs East Semis: (1) Celtics Vs. (4) Cavs

Postby Lamrock on Mon May 05, 2008 6:34 am

Okay, final second round series. My prediction is Celtics in 5. Yeah, they played like shit on the road against ATL, but I expect them to take all their home games, and steal Game 4, because they are the better team.

What the hell? Hawks in 7?
Aha, damn Lamrock. Your polls are crazy.
My prediction is Celtics in 7.
LeBron will play great, but not great enough.

Celtics in six. I doubt the Cavaliers will be easy pickings after the Hawks managed to give Boston a scare but that's behind them now. If it does come down to seven again though, I'm still picking the Celtics.

I'm gonna go with the upset and say the Cavs in 7 i just dont think Boston will be able to stop a determined Lebron James but on the other hand it will be hard to stop a Determined Garnett/Pierce/Allen. Somehow i just think the Cavs could pinch it.

Lamrock is now a sharkjumper.

Celtics in 6. It's defense against defense for this series but the Cavs only have LeBron as a major threat for offense while the Celts have the three stooges.

C's in 6, if Rondo could continue his game, maybe even be better from now and on, he could deserve the Finals MVP if Boston would do it. :o

That's a big call, the Cavs taking it on the brink of elimination in Boston; kudos if it does go down that way though. I'm still inclined to pick Boston if it goes to seven, as disappointing as they were on the road against Atlanta they took care of business in the TD Banknorth Garden, winning those four games by an average of 25 points.

Celtics in six perhaps. Or in five so that they'll win Game 5 at home.

And I don't want to see Varejao flopping around. If so, KG will be suspended because of breaking Varejao's neck.

Some guy @Basketbawful wrote:How the poor Zebras are going to call this! I mean, they have both Stern Favorites, being The Celts and The King with other guys wearing same colored/logoed jerseys.

Couldn't agree more.

The Celtics take game 1 with 28 points from KG.
LeBron only scored 12, I didn't see the game, but Boston musted have done a good work on him.

Yes. Lets complete Lebrons stats in the game: 12pts 9assists 9boards and 10 turnovers :? . Anyway I think the Cavs can take this series, it wont be easy for the Celtics to defend Lebron once again like this. 76-72 game shows how much Boston had to fight to get his win at home.

LeBron missed 16 field goals and had 10 turnovers. Pierce and Allen combined to miss 16 field goals and have 10 turnovers.

I think the C's win this series in 5 games. The Celts aren't the deepest team in the NBA but they have a much better supporting cast around their big 3 than the Cavs do around LeBron James.

Oh and good thing LeBron missed that last shot he took going to the rim. He definitely traveled after blowing by Posey. If he had made that basket it would have been a tie ball game.

Cavs can't be too upset.....LBJ had his worst game as a pro and they still had a chance. Granted Pierce & Allen probably won't play that bad either.

that game was just odd all around, both allen and pierce being off, lebron hurting his team rather than helping. this is why its good to have 3 superstars and not just 1 i guess. still kinda pissed they didnt see the knee to sams head, but whatever.

The Celtics just wrapped up Game 2 winning by sixteen, LeBron scored 21 but had another tough night from the field shooting 6/24. Now to see if Boston can win on the road in this postseason or whether this one will have a shot at going the distance.

it was said after game one and i will say it now, no way lebron plays that bad next game, specially since he will be at home this time. still even with the blowout i want to see the celts step up a bit more, when lebron gets going we are gonna have a hard time winning
