fuck ya, cops n crooks is some seriously fun shit. never been a fan of straight death match in any game so its nice to see they got more options.

also the auto save feature is another nice addition as is the replay option for failed missions

Agreed, it saves so much time not having to drive back to the contact point to trigger the mission again.

Don't be too jealous. My game is shot after about 3 hours of gameplay. It freezes mostly at the game intro or after about 5 minutes into playing now. Most of the problems are coming from 60 gb ps3's, but I have a 360 with the same problems.

I don't think GTA 4 was worth a 10/10 (which on ign is like getting a 100/100 because of the decimal point)

There are alot of good (and even great) aspects of the game, but there's areas in which it is behind in certain aspects. The cover and shooting system aren't nearly as good as Rainbow 6 Vegas or Gears of War. The movement isn't nearly as smooth as Halo. The car controlling isn't as good as in Crackdown. And the multiplayer is seriously overrated. Nice, but overrated.

But the actual storyline is top notch, the best I've seen in any game. Also the relationship's within the sandbox is great as you're trying to juggle missions with keeping your gf/ buddies happy. The graphics are also sweet.

GTA 4 isn't my favourite game, but in my opinion I think it's the best game I've ever played. It's like when you're a fan of Lebron James, but you know Kobe is better. But it didn't deserve a perfect 10/10.

i would say if any game truely deserves a perfect 10 (or 100) then this game would be it. i agree that the cover system is not great, feels awkward to me actually but i never thought i would use it much anyway. the walking portion of movement feels off also, feels too slow. i dont have a problem with the driving though, seems fine to me however i never played crackdown so...

Not fond of the control system either. Driving is very awkward, but switching to 'CLASSIC' helps a bit. Trying to make certain things realistic in a GTA game is a mistake. Just my .02. But there is a lot to love about this game.

Haven't done a mission yet, just exploring, robbing, and looking for weapons. I want a build up a nice arsenal before I start missions. Found a bat across the street(from my safehouse) in an alley, and some armor in a junkyard near the projects.

First thing I did when I got the game, was watch TV on it.

I don't like the motion blur, I think it is just masking a framerate issue. I seriously hate the car turning, because I cannot see where I am going. I will probably integrate my right analog movement with my turning so I can see what's ahead of me after making quick turns. Overall, I am enjoying it.

One on of the first missions with Little Jacob, I decided to go up stairs at the house just to explore. As I started to go back down I heard a "aww!" Like someone died or something and a little message popped up telling me how to replay a mission. I have no idea how, but Little Jacob had died. Maybe I ran over him as I came back down the stairs. It was disappointing to fail my first mission on that note.

Good to know I'm not the only one having a bit of difficulty driving, especially when it comes to the camera. It would have been better if the camera remained focused behind the car at all times. I haven't tried driving from first person perspective though. Driving's not too bad when you take it easy but I'm dreading any timed missions and in particular, any racing missions if they exist.

How can you say that if some aspects are behind other games? The cover/ shooting system is so far behind R6V and Gears.

But I stand by my statement that its the best game I've played so far. It's just not worthy of a 100/100

Jeff, if you want to build your arsenal of weapons up, try doing some missions: They will unlock gun shops for you.

Andrew, I click the right thumbstick to get back behind the driving camera when I'm driving. But its annoying when having to do a 3 point turn and you become side on to the car.

i am not saying it does deserve it, just saying i would give this game a 10 before i gave any other game i have played a 10

as for the driving camera, use the in car camera. maybe i am the only one who uses that view i dont know but its perfect for me. i can handle the car much better and i dont have to constantly keep readjusting the camera when going up or down hills. also running over people is very cool with the in car cam lol.

i agree with jeff, i like classic controls more. the new controls seem to be there to make certain things like free aim easier but i just dont like them

one thing i have already noticed with this game is that it is harder for me to learn the map. i already have 12 hours in the game and i still dont really know the map at all. the other games i learned the maps really quick, maybe its cause the city is supposed to be bigger(seems bigger anyway), but who knows

I do that too but it's not always convenient. Maybe they're trying to be a bit more cinematic with the camera movements, it's not ideal for gameplay though.

I haven't used the GPS much outside the missions as I can usually find my way to contact points using the blip on the radar but I've used it a couple of times and it really is handy. I think I'll start using it more often, it certainly helps out during missions.

Been going far into the missions, met most of the characters I knew about from before the game but still havent gotten over the first bridges.

Played my first online tonight as well with my roommate from UMass. Shit, played for a long while. Everything from helicopters, sniping ppl from rooftops, trying to land and stand on the planes in the airport, messing around on boats and finally a good hour or so on motorbikes in the skate park on the 2nd island. Backflips + Frontflips = awesome. Great to know that even though its a brand spanking new game that GTA stunting can continue.

I would give this game a definite 10 without question. I have yet to find anything that truly annoys me or that would prevent it from being a perfect game in my eyes.
Opinions are my own.

Sauru, I agree with you on learning the map. I think it has to do with the amount of detail. In the older games I could recognize buildings pretty quickly and learn small sections at a time. I've probably only played for about 5-6 hours and I am still learning my way around the local district where Niko lives.

I think doing cab missions will help, or even getting a couple wanted levels and extending a pursuit by driving around in one area without looking at the gps.

Anybody like the car with the gps voice telling you when to turn? I thought that was pretty cool.

Got drunk for the first time. It was pretty funny. Roman and Niko were falling all over the car, landing on the hood, falling down. I decided to punch him a few times to see what would happen, he just sweared at me. I randomly shot out the car and got some cops after me. Driving away from them drunk was pretty fun.

So if something doesn't annoy you, it's perfect in your eyes?

GTA 4's story is getting better and better as the game goes on, and I had high praise for it earlier. Is anyone else liking the fact it's in Liberty city, the nostalgic feel from GTA III?

I do, the games that featured Liberty City have been my favourites in the series so far and it was an appropriate choice given that the very first level in the original GTA was set in Liberty City as well as GTA3 being such an improvement in the series and great game in general.
