Player introductions in dynasty mode

Postby Leander on Sat Mar 29, 2008 9:41 pm

Is there a hack to have them in dynasty mode? They are so important to me.

You could try copying the introduction files from NBA Live 06. I'm pretty sure they're compatible.

It would be great if it worked.

Where are those files? Couldn't find any intro files from 2005.

I can't remember the filenames at this time, I'll take another look and let you know. In the meantime, if anyone else knows the answer feel free to post it.

Have those files the same name in both games?

There is a file "intro.loc / stf / vp6" in the movies folder but I think it is just the EA Sports intro vid. Please post the name of the file when you have time to browse your files.

That would be the main intro video. I'll keep looking but as I said, if anyone else has the answer feel free to beat me to it.

Andrew I don`t want to get on your nerves but I am extremely curious if it works or not. If you don´t know the files please tell me a.s.a.p. I´d like to know what I`m at....if changing introductions works or not.

As far as I'm aware it works but I'm unsure of the files to swap. If I have an answer for you, I'll be sure to post it.

Are there any other people that know the location of the intro-files?
Maybe it is a small script or setting such as "introductions - exhibition: yes, dynasty: no".

I'm pretty sure it's a matter of replacing files. I remember someone importing the introductions from 2005 or 06 into 07, I had a quick look for that release but couldn't find it.

Do you mean this one?

or this one?

There are adjustments to FSS in both of them but 2005 doesn't have this feature.

The files in the scripter directory are the cutscene files that you are looking for.

Great. Do you know more? Inside the viv there are int_ files for intros but I don't know what is loaded in franchise and exhibition mode.

Looking at the xscripts.viv files for 06 and 2005, there are some common files when it comes to the intros; 06 naturally has additional files for the FSS intros. Presumably you could use the files from 06 that are common with 2005, overwriting the originals to utilise the intros from 06.

Not that easy. There is a scdata.sbk. It cannot be edited with BigGUI.
I tried to replace INT_player or something...three files.

Result: the bench is shown like during a timeout and that's it.

I think the viv has the animations in the file, the scdata sets when which file is played. This file is in hex format I think.

I overwrote both files with 06 files. With strange results in dynasty mode.

The intro is longer than usual. You can see the warmup...players take shots. Suddenly Rip Hamilton dribbled around and showed off his skills...must be some FSS stuff. Then you could again see all players for 1 sec...and then the players were introduced. "Here are the starters for your New York Knicks!"

...

And Detroit was introduced...all five starters of the wrong team. LOL

Next try...original viv with new sbk.

Nothing. The game starts immediately. No intros.

Next try...

UPDATE: It's definitely in the sbk.

Like this: "if play now then load ... and ... and ..."
"If season then load ..." (but not introductions)

I can't edit this. It's hex stuff all the way

I could extract the player intros...rename them to animation files that are played in season mode only...could work. But it's difficult to find this out.

Anyone?

I couldn't say offhand, my only suggestion at this point would be trial and error. Sorry. I think you're going down the right path with extracting and renaming the files as necessary though.

No chance. :(

I really tried a lot. If the size of an animation is too big the game crashes. I cannot replace a team's warmup in season mode with a player introduction. Besides, I am not 100% sure how those files work.

It's a link of files...audience is shown, one glimpse here, one glimpse there, one logo, one short something...

It's typical of EA Sports. How in the world can you have player introductions in exhibition mode (2005) only OR in dynasty mode only (06)? It must be one way to annoy basketball fans. Fans wanted the intros back in dynasty mode...they got it, fine...but why did EA leave them out of play now? It just sucks.

The player intros are one of the best aspects of watching or playing a game. (N)

Do you think that Tim or EA's customer support could help us how to add intros to dynasty mode?

I get the best result with both files from 06. I just overwrite the files from 2005 in the scripter directory.

The intros are the same, both in play now and season mode.

1) a player is shown, he shows off skills, dunks on another player etc. ... and finishes with a pose
2) Announcer says "here are the starting lineups..." ... but then you see the players shooting and warming up...
3) The player intros are next.

The only difference is that in play now the home team is introduces while in season mode the away team is introduced although the announcer says the home team's name.

I want this solution so bad, I'd even pay for it. Player intros in dynasty mode are essential. :(

I agree it's annoying, but I don't think it's anything more than an oversight.

No. Helping us mod the game is not in the responsibility of customer support.
