once again despite u guys saying i was wrong, espn basketball beats nba live. I love it. Click above to read the review. Not only did the graphics get a 10.0(which is perfect)it's also at 720p hdtv which for me who has a 55" hdtv is gonna be incredible!

sorry guys, maybe next year :)

ESPN basketball indeed sounds like a nice game.
But what's the point of this post?

AWESOME! Now go get it! and by the way--you'd also believe somebody if they told you the earth was flat huh"

Take the review as another man's opinion, don't make it your own. Geez, be a man. I make my own decisions about games--I'm not gonna take somebody's word over my own. If you are the type of person that needs somebody to "OK" your every move then go buy 2k4. I'm happy with Live 2004 , and I'm gonna test 2k4 out when Blockbuster gets it--but DAMN--your getting all excited like this dude from IGN is God. Why don't you play it first and then form your own opinion.

your sounding like a phuckin groupie out this bitch...man.Pull yourself together--what do you want a cookie or a gold medal?

You filty douchebag, go back to hell where you whence came from. j/k
I do agree with you about the game. Everytime I play NBA live, no matter what version it is, I never get the parallel to reality. The game is so off! I think EA should build NBA Live, preferrably 2005, from the ground up.

Gameplay wise, 2k beats live last year but graphics is much better for live.
This year live 04 improves alot in every aspect of the game. I'll have to wait for espn basketball to compare the two.

I like NBA Live 2004 a lot better than ESPN. I love the Live commentating with Marv and Mike, and I love the 2-button shooting. Those two features alone make NBA Live 2004 far better than ESPN. The 24/7 feature of ESPN seems meaningless to me and something I would never use.

Think of it this way guys...if the espn basketball franchise keeps being better than nba live...EA has a reason to give us a better game the next year. I'm still gonna be playing nba live..and im not gonna buy espn basketball..even though i got the money. It's not that i dont agree that espn basketball is better...it's just that i prefer to do my bball gaming on the pc.

The grapics on ESPN are not all that great. On the screenshots it looks like the guys' heads are stuck in their neck or something, lol. Besides Live on PC is going to look better anyways because the PC version uses higher res pics for the models and computer monitors have a better dpi than television sets which use lines. For us that use the TV Out it looks about the same as the PS2 or XBox version. I prefer Live anyways since I've played it since Live 98 on PC and Live 95 on Sega. Plus I don't have a console since I play all of my games on the PC. Thats just my 2 cents

When it comes to gameplay, though, there are a few things featured in NBA Live 2004, that could've made ESPN's gameplay run even smoother. The first is the separation of the shoot and dunk buttons. Playing Live and then moving on to ESPN, you really miss calling your own shots, or dunks if you will, as anytime you are given more control, that is a good thing. The second gameplay addition only featured in Live is the use of the pro hop button. In ESPN, there are pro hops, but like I mentioned before, these are more of contextual animations rather than anything you are controlling. The pro hop button in Live helps ball handlers split defenders and create separation on the way to the hoop, and combined with IsoMotion, could've been a deadly gameplay weapon. Oh well, there's always next year.

I'll be playing it all weekend, so I'll do a little comparing. But--IMHO-I'm loving Live and the sliders right now. But, I'll try not to be bias.

what's the purpose?
all you're doing is say "hi, I'm a rich childish boy. I follow games as if it were my religion."
unless you get paid from ESPN I see no purpose.

After playing ESPN, post your opinions on the game and compare it with Live. I'd like to hear the pros and cons -- unbiased :D

i have only played live 2004 so far, so i can't comment on espn 2k4

i WAS a live fan once upon a time (feel like 100 years)
i still like live 95 and live 2000 personally

but since live 2001, it's not LIVE anymore, it should be called ea nba arcade 2001/2003/2004 instead

i always have high hopes on upcoming live release, but ea always let me down, year by year.... >_<

live 2004 is a bit better than live 2003...

live 2005? yes, they should redo the whole game engine, i just don't like the mechanics on live 2004

Your passion for the NBA Live series is admirable, but your posting style is not. Remarks such as these:

SHUT THE FUCK up and get a life

are not acceptable. By all mean, show your support for and enjoy the NBA Live series, but not to the extent where you flame other people for their opinions. Thank you.

NBA live is better than espn, because, in live, player look like basketball's player, and in espn they are all ugly, (iverson is the only great player because he's on the cover)

i see some screenshot of espn, which show jason tery (he got a duck's
face)
you can create some players who look like a Kiss'member

players still walk like arnold schwarzenegger in Terminator 1-2-3

i think that espn basketball is a cartoon game!, where are bugs and daffy?
