editing the rosters of nlsc

Postby quade1337 on Thu Mar 20, 2008 10:46 am

I am trying to edit the dream team of the nlcs roster but somehow its not working.

I took some players off the team from the players.dbf, but for some reason they are still appearing on the roster?

any reasons why? I deleted the whole entry from players.dbf

I am able to add players fine but cant remove players

Make sure you load the file again after you edit it.

i dont think its just as simple as deleting the record, im pretty sure you have to set values in some fields to make them disappear from the roster

i don't know if it's just me but from what i experienced i don't think deleting an entry is actually deleting it in the dbf file... i think it's just making it invisible or something cuz when you open the edited dbf file in another dbf editor, dbf viewer for example, the entry you deleted will still be there but with an "X" mark beside it....
maybe what you need to do is edit it with the player you want to insert in the team!!!

I just tried that and it didnt work. I set his team to 32 which is retired and he still appears on the roster.

So maybe try setting team to -1.

If you've deleted a row in the database you need to start over as you've messed up the database. If you change a player's TEAM to 32, he will not appear in the active roster. Try this with a fresh copy of the rosters, as the file you've been editing is no longer any good to work with.

Also, note that some players have multiple entries. Make sure you edit the correct entry; if their previous TEAM value is 0-29 or 50, they're on one of the 30 NBA teams or the Free Agent pool. Changing their value to 32 will remove them from the rosters.

Finally, this is not what the Releases & Previews section is for. It is for releasing or previewing work only, not for asking for help on how to edit the game. For future reference, please use the Patching Help & Requests section for posts like these. Thanks.
