unactive members...

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

unactive members...

i was just browsing though the 'Memberlist' and i was checking a few things.

There is 1202 (about 13 pages) members on this forum that has never made a single post...
i just thought that there might be time, now with all the changes and stuff, to delete some people that hasn't made a single post in the last 12 months or so... (with some exeptions)

:o yey. i'm the 25 top poster

i thought about that too andreas but you shouldnt forget it could be that lots of those members just read the bord as member cuz u cant see which messages are new and topics and stuff otherwise, but they rather dont post cuz they dont feel like sharing their opinion or be flamed by others just cuz they have a different opinion(which sadly enough is becomin a habit these days), so they should be pm'ed first so they at least can have a chance to respond :)

no offence Andreas but what exactly do you suppose the NLSC is gonna gain by deleting forum accounts?

It would also free up some usernames that have been taken by people who never post.

At some point I'll go through and delete some of those inactive members. Some people take months to post though - they signup then forget about it. I'll definitely delete the accounts that still remain inactive since the forum opened.

I don't think this is a good idea Andrew. I know a few people who sign up just to read posts.. I know you don't have to sign up to read posts but you do if you want to use the "posts since last visit" search feature. Which alot of people use to see what is happening since they last visited the site. Don't delete people just because they don't post.. (N)

I don't know I think its a good Idea.. I forgot my signon for my lebronjames handle so I made this one... I had a few posts with that one... created it a long time ago... but can't access it. So iguess it could be deleted, wish I had that one back tho.

Andrew, maybe there's a mod that can enable you to see when a user logged for the last time ? THAT would be great, and you wouldn't have to send thousand of pm's :) all the more as some counts with few posts are also no longer active, simply because the user forgot the password, like pirate did.
Then, you could delete accounts of users with less than 10 posts who hadn't logged for the last 60 days for instance.

btw, i think that the small icon "nlsc member" above your avatar is too flashy, but that's my point of view :)

i see but anywayz i just don't see the point in deleting user accounts. as david already noted, there are a whole lot of ppl who sign up just to know what's going on in the community but don't post because they don't feel like they have anything relevant to contribute.

I understand that, but the problem is they may have taken usernames that are desired by other people; people who want to post. I won't be deleting all of the inactive accounts, just the ones that were registered way back and haven't been used.
