Since 05 has great crossovers and other different moves I did a video about them. Since we now can edit the animations would it be possible to use them in 08 ? Seushiro could implement 06 crossovers into 05 so why not in 08?

Dude,I got this idea too while I was playing nba live 04.Crossovers were fantastic!You have to send a pm to Webberf1.If there is anyone here who can do something like this,it's him.He can probably fix 08 animations a bit,and maybe he can ask jaosming to export anymations from older nba lives,if he doesn't know how to do that.Yes,it could work. :D

What about clydeli or ignatus? I thought they were able to even create new animations?

You cannot take moves from 07/08 and take them to 06 or earlier. The animation names are encrypted within the animation files. You also cannot bring animations from 06 or earlier to 07/08.

But is it possible to use 05 anims in 06? Could you explain how to do it? But Seushiro managed to use 07 March Madness anims in 05.

march madness 06/07/08 runs off the 2005 engine. it never went to the Live 07/08 engine.

so yes, its possible to use 05 animations in 06.

ok, kus, I am pretty sure i've told you this before.

animations in-game are controlled by the aiact.viv

the animations themselves are in the nba live 08/anim/body folder and the animations for in-game are located in the xanim.viv and xsysm.viv

with dolphin, EAGE (eagraph) or any other viv editing program extract the orl and ord from the animation vivs and import them into the game you want to import them into.

then you need to edit the aiact.viv so the game will actually try to reference the animations in those vivs.if you dont do this, you will have a lot of crashing issues

then, if you are lucky, that is it. it isnt the hardest thing to do for live but it is by far the most unstable thing so far. dealing with incompatible animations and trying to get them to work in another version is kinda a pain in the arse.

well, the dnk ones are for dunks, the pass one is for passes, the shot one is for shots....


in that regard it is pretty straight forward. as for naming each animation....yea no, I for sure am not doing that.

however in my dunk.act tutorial there are links that goto a chinese website that contains a small gif animation of each dunk animation in Live 07, and in my NBA Live PC thread in the Live 06 releases section I posted a txt file that gives a basic description of each and every dunk in Live 06.


The best way to figure out animations is to look inside the aiact.viv like i said in my last post. to find out the shot animation names, you open the shottype.act. dunks = dunk.act, passes = panim.act and so on. There is also a txt file in the anim folders somewhere that lists every single animation in the game. the file is called ea3names.txt

i believe its in common, but i dont know what you are trying to do.....

the dribbling in 07 and 08 are exactly the same and 07 animations are the only wants that will work in 08.

I want to get the 05 crossover into jimmys 06 v4 aiact
I´ll try tommorow since its now night in Germany and Im not on my PC

EDIT: Luckily Im at home now and my friend told me that school will start later tomorrow so I´ll tried to import the commons and I only got the standing dribbling animation I´ll continue now or tomorrow

EDIT again: I tried to use both common and cut bit it did crash tomorrow Ill only try cut

xmcpscen file is the scenario animations that usually involve more then one player. If you replace it with 07's xmcpscen files you have to take 07's scenario.bin file in the AI directory and put it in 08.

xmcpturn are the animations for when players turn.

xmcpcol are collision animations I believe.

xmcpcut may be cutscene animations or the cutting animations that can be performed when you are controlling a player without the ball.

xmcpcel are thge celebration animations, I think.

xmcpface are facial animations that are only used during cutscenes, I believe.

Thaks for the answers again! (Y) I dont know how you figured out all this shit but you guys are great! I just need this crossovers in 06!
Now Im going to try out all the files which I think to be the crossvoers since I didnt learn anything out of the loco.act

EDIT: Do i have to import both new .orl and .ord into xsysms and xaanims?

hey,could anybody tell me which number in dunk.act do i have to change to modify hanging time? in jaosming`s dunk.act tutorial is a great explanation but when i modify numbers nothing happens in the game

You cant edit the dunking animation. Only edit the conditions to let them appear.
