Orlando Dynasty (2k8)

Postby Matthew on Thu Jan 17, 2008 7:58 pm

I've had 2k8 for a while and I haven't really gotten into the game. I was about to start a Jazz dynasty to develop williams but I couldn't be bothered typing Kirelinko 500 times. Plus I wanted to do an East team to battle the mighty celtics.

The only thing is, something was missing from making this a must-play-every-game dynasty until i decided to go back in time and...

Orlando signs Penny Hardaway to a one year deal!

I couldn't resist!

Staring lineups to start the season:

C: Howard
F: Lewis
F: Hedo
G: Penny
G: Nelson

This lineup is very versatile. If Nelson struggles, I can slot Penny at pg, Hedo at sg, lewis sf and cook pf.

This should be fun.

Team goals:

1. Win 50 games
2. Get Dwight Howard into the asg
3. Trade Adonal Foyle.

No, he was making fun of some people, hence the crazy emoticon in the post after it. Several people who have made a thread or post that they wanted to take back end up editing it and put "nevermind" in it's place.

Looking forward to this. The Magic have been a hard team to play against in 2k8 for me personally, as their length and inside out game is hard to stop. A team I have considered to start playing with several times. Hope it goes well, and Penny has some success.

oh oaky

:proud:

The first game was against Milwaukee and the first half pretty well played. Lewis was shooting well and Howard was getting good looks. Redd was keeping the Bucks close though and at the end of the first half it was tied at 44. The second half saw the wheels come off completely, with the magic completely unable to stop the Bucks on the offensive glass. I only scored 9 points and got beaten 94-69

Player of the Game

Michael Redd
25 points, 1 rebound, 7 assists

Magic stats

Lewis 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists 1 block
Howard 15 points (7-9 fg), 3 assists, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
Penny 12 points, 7 assists, 1 rebound

I knew I needed some help inside so I checked out the trading block and noticed McDyess. I offered Arroyo and Foyle for him and they accepted.

The new lineup is:
C: Howard
PF: Mcdyess
SF: Lewis
SG: Hedo
PG: Penny

Nelson, Dooling, Evans, Garrity and Cook are the second unit. Lets see how the second game goes.

All of the dynasties these days are so over-written and uninspired as of late (yes I'm guilty of that myself, but thats partly why I've quit for the time being) and yet even without pictures, these old-school first-person spoken, almost simple dynasties are still my favorites.

Really enjoyed the first recap, and I hope this one is even better than your Lakers one! Like the trade, though I'm not a fan of Hedo playing the 2. If I'm not mistaken, I slotted him at PF last year with my archaic Magic Association.

The fuck? That's not what you told me when you were taking pics of me and that mahogany.

Penny, Hedo, and Lewis on the backcourt, you may have the height but don't you think you're giving up considerable speed in the defensive end with them starting?
