PERFECT NEXT-GEN LIGHTING PROJECT **FULL Released**

Postby Beatboxer on Mon Jan 21, 2008 1:10 pm

NEW POST:

FULL PACKAGE download link:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/xzxzdf
http://www.mediafire.com/?9oxonnx9lxz
http://www.speedyshare.com/741698778.html

I added a detailed readme file for the instructions. Please read carefully for best results.

If you didn't like the green, you can try this much lighter green below:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/tkoo5c
and
As an option, you can use this uncoloured lighting below:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/m5zo7v

And please, do not give feedback without actually trying the patch ingame.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Look at these next-gen screenshots below:

I put these screenshots here, because i want you to notice the different lightning styles in each screenshot.
- Did you see the lightning on Yao's jersey? It's red and coming from the floor i think.
- Did you see the lightning on Dirk's jersey? It's grey because of the black stripes&lines in Germany's jersey.
- Did you see the lightning on Kevin's jersey? It's green because of Boston's green and again coming from the floor.

I mean, if someone makes different lightning files for each main colours(black,red,yellow,blue,green,orange,grey,etc...), the lightning would be more realistic.

EDIT: I also suggest the lightning colours of court-floor colours. So if players reach to the paint area(like Yao&Dirk in the screenshots), colour of those paint areas may produce some realistic feeling of lightning.

Maybe it's hard to do that. But we can make things easier. For example, lightning patchers make 5 different "lit5on5.ubr" for each color. We can just paste the suitable one into the sgsm folder just before starting the match.

If you think this works, please give your comments here.

Thanks in advance.

Man, i've just tried your new lightning. And we are talking about the same. I had a problem, and sent some screenshots in your lightning thread.

I know it's very difficult. But if you lightning patchers succeeded with the blue light, so, why not for the other colours?

I hope Babylei may take a look at this thread, and share some opinions

Impossible with the version of Live for the PC. I'm sorry but you just can't do it without a programmer putting in lots of time to a game that doesn't have the visuals that would really benefit from it.

My friend, i understand what you mean, but it's impossible with this current gen technology.
You mean:
I should make the AI think of reflecting the coloured light from the painted areas, and reflecting the other light from uncoloured areas.
But it is truely impossible with this current gen technology.

BTW, as soon as i think this patch looks good, i'll release it and you can give it a try

Man, I don't like the video preview...the green looks nice, but i dont like that the color reflects on the whole player. It should only reflect from the jersey, as it does in the pictures in the first post of the thread

Oops, sorry.

I'm just wrapped up in my blue lighting file for the Nuggets.
Post is fixed now.

Sorry.

Wish it does. But in NBA Live 08 current-gen, light reflects on the whole player model, not only shorts. There are two main color directions as:
- Coming from the floor that reflects on the whole player model from below.
- Coming from the spotlights that reflects on the whole player from above.(Sweaty-shiny effect).

BTW, did you try the patch ingame? I really wonder if you liked? Please give me feedback by trying in the game, not watching the video nor looking at the screenshots.

Thanks in advance.

As i mentioned before, you should use red for red coloured courts. I mean, yellow & green colours on the Seattle court don't reflect red, right?
So, you need my green or uncoloured lighting file.

Well... It's time for the release of the full package. A detailed readme file included.

Look at the first post please.

I hope you like it.
