Are you sure the game crashes after editing files and not before? Crashing after a timeout is called or during the end of the period is a sign that you have the pirated version. The only way to stop the crash is to use the original copy and play with the DVD in the drive. If there was an error in your dbf file that would cause a crash, you probably couldn't even get into the game.

I can only try to help you. You don't have to install any patch to edit files. What dbf files are you editing and what parts are you editing in your dbf file(s)?
Pdub wrote:What are you editing in the players.dbf, specifically?
I don't know why you can't play the game with alternate jerseys. Do they show up in the team select screen? If they don't then there is something wrong in the teamgear file like having no entry for those alternate jerseys.
Pdub wrote:You mean it shows that there is no jersey preview, or is there no jersey named "alternate" when you scroll through the jerseys?
I'm not sure about the go to moves since I have never tried editing them. It's possible that you put in some values the game does not like, but I don't know.
Pdub wrote:I have no idea why they do not display in your game. I checked the default dbf files and both New Jersey and Washington have an entries for their alternate jerseys, ID 369 and ID 371 in the teamgear file. I checked the jerseys.viv file for the jersey previews and New Jersey does indeed have a red alternate preview file, but Washington has an alternate preview that is the same as their away jersey for some reason. Regardless of that, the actual in-game graphics still displays the correct jersey when the alternate is selected.
Are you using the default roster that came with the game?
