How to delete players..?

Thu Jan 03, 2008 3:06 am

Hello,

I was just wandering, is there a chance to delete some of the players from the game? For example Reggie Miller, or Vlade Divac - they retired some time ago, and I don't want them in the game...

Any help would be very appreciated.
Very best regards.
Marek

I don't know about deleting them, but I know that they retire quickly. So even if you can't delete them, you only have to put up with them for 1 season.

Thanks for the help asqsjb. Well, that's comforting, but I just started to play the Dynasty mode, and I really don't want to see those guys in my game...Maybe some other person will give me the advice, how to delete them once and for all...?

The easiest way to remove players from the active roster is to change their TEAM and CASH_TEAM attributes to 32 (the Retired Players pool). Deleting the entries from the database is usually ineffective and often leads to crashes or other undesirable effects.

Thanks Andrew, but how can I change the CASH_TEAM attributes to 32?

You need to open players.dbf with DB Commander, locate the players you want to remove and then scroll across in the database until you find the TEAM field and change the player's value to 32. Do the same for the CASH_TEAM field.

Hey Andrew, but in which folder I must locate the players.dbf? Because a lot of folders have the file players.dbf and I don't know which folder is correct...

your dynasty's folder

You mean dynasty in my saves folder, right?:) Hey, i did it, but nothing's happen. Still karl Malone was playing in Utah. His value of TEAM and CASH_TEAM was 28, so I changed it to 32. And nothing. Then I opened the DB Commander 2000 PRO once again, and I saw, that my changes were not saved! There was still values set to 28. So what I need to do, to get the job done? What about "Export to ASCII file" in 'Utilities'?

Please help...

Well, I got it! I just clicked on "Post Edit", and that was it! So, bye-bye to Divac, Kukoc, R. Miller & other old players:)
