i know lots of people don't touch default rosters but for me it's a tradition that has gone of for yearsssssssssssssssssssssssss.
i'm not gonna edit player ratings much.
i just like putting my fav players on one team and kick out punks i hate.
how do u play live?
Mon Oct 13, 2003 9:29 am
I don't like to touch the rosters... They are sacred for me...
lol, j/k... At first I like to play a franchise with original rosters... Then, depending on the way I go, trade the players...
But, if the player development in Live is fine (as discussed on that other thread), then I might stick to some original roster... Just doin' the updates...

I'm gonna have the Cavs. Everythings the same but I'm gonna have Wagner starting at shooting guard cause he's from where I'm from.CMD for Life. I would then put Lebron at Boozer's spot.
Mon Oct 13, 2003 9:36 am
i'm gonna keep Chicago
but with this starting lineup:
crawford
rose
pippen
fizer
curry
and if i can, i make a trade to got michael finley or corey maggette cause i do not like jalen
and i think that fizer is better than chandler at power forward

Celtics
Battie
Walker
Brown
Pierce
Banks

Order off the bench:
Baker
Jones
James
McCarty
Perkins
Ewill
Delk
IR:
Blount
Cleaves
Hunter
I don't like playing with fake rosters... the only thing I ever do is make a created player... normally at either the PG or SF position, but since the C's drafted Banks and Brown seems to be coming into his own, I probably wont do anything different.

Ill work on my first roster update

New Orleans Hornets baby!!
I used to create myself and put myself on the Hornets roster, but then I just stopped doing that by the time Live 2000 came out. I guess I got used to original rosters.
I like to have realism in my version, so I keep up to date with real NBA rosters. The only thing I do with rosters these days is send someone to the IR or release them and sign a free agent.
Magloire
Brown
Mashburn
Wesley
Davis
Armstrong
Lynch
Augmon
West
Traylor
Rooks
Alexander
IR
Lang
Drew
Haston

Suns most likely with...
Cabarkapa (I think? Depending on anyone else's rating)
Amare
Matrix
ME!!! (Or Joe)
Starbury
If I create myself on the team I'll probably trade Penny for a center, even if he's bad since the Suns need another big man.
Mon Oct 13, 2003 11:34 am
Since I don't really have a favorite team anymore, I might do a fantasy draft and put together my own team with the Raptors franchise. Otherwise, I'll play as the Raptors and get Vince to kick some butt.

Joe Smith
K.G
Spreewell
Sam Cassell
Michael Olowokandi
Mon Oct 13, 2003 12:06 pm
Joe Smith was part of the Sammy trade and is now a Buck.
Mon Oct 13, 2003 12:29 pm
Try replacing Joe Smith with Szczerbiak and now you got a dangerous team!
Mon Oct 13, 2003 12:35 pm
Damn my bad thanks for the info. And to think they made all that fuss about him when he got into that controversy about the money thing. When Kevin McHale was crapping his pants....LOL

SG-KErry
PG-J.KIDD for life baby!!!!!!

The Nets have a nice lineup, and definitely strong in the east, but ESPN reports that if the team moves from NJ to Long Island, Jason Kidd would ask for a trade. That could be a problem

Phoenix Suns
Starting Point Guard Stephon Marbury
Backup Point Guard Leandro Barbosa
Starting Shooting Guard Joe Johnson
Backup Shooting Guard Penny Hardaway
Starting Small Forward Shawn Marion
Backup Small Forward DerMarr Johnson*
Starting Power Forward Amare Stoudemire
Backup Power Forward Zarko Cabarkapa
Starting Center Jake Voskuhl
Backup Center Scott Williams
That will be my first season roster. but as the new general manager, i try to contrive some intelligent trades.
1. a new center (maybe dampier and diop)
2. trade shawn marion for ron artest (+ draftpicks or some other players)
3. acquire shane battier for dermarr johnson and a second round pick
4...
* if he gets into the season roster
Mon Oct 13, 2003 8:53 pm
i´ll take the knicks and simulate the first season. then i´ll be going for a good offensive guard or small forward in the first round of the draft, maybe do some trades to get a solid rebounding and defensive team around him. then i´ll try to get into the playoffs and give my best there. with that star player i´ll try to win rookie of the year and later scoring and mvp titles. just writing this gets me so excited.
i want that game!
Mon Oct 13, 2003 9:33 pm
Dallas, would try to trade finley for carmelo and hope denver have enough cap to take the excess salary.
Trade Raef and some scraps for Yao and Griffin
Then would try to trade antawn for jason terry
C- Yao ming, Ming Yao
PF- Dirk Nowitzki
SF- Carmelo Anthony
SG- Jason Terry
PG- Steve Nash
then draft only euros
Mon Oct 13, 2003 10:39 pm
Dallas for me....
Starting Roster for Game One
C- Raef
PF- Dirk
SF- Antawn
SG- Finley
PG- Hippie Steve
BENCH
Fortson
Welsch
Najera
Nothing ground-breaking there I know, but until unless Raef attracts any interest in another viable big man I'll keep him, as I really don't see anyone else better for his rating (63 or so I believe). He is definitely overpaid, but can mix well with the offense and block shots on D. If a banging, interior 1-on-1 defensive centre became available I would be interested however. Dirk is my man, all offense goes thru him.
Bring it on!!!
Mon Oct 13, 2003 11:11 pm
Hawks for me.....
Starting C: Theo
Backup C: Nazr
Starting PF: Reef
Backup PF: Hendu
Starting SF: S. Jackson
Backup SF: Diaw-Rifford
(I'm hoping Boris plays well enough in the NBA to replace Jackson as a starter, cos I like his potential)
Starting SG: J.T. of course
Backup SG: Glover
Starting PG: J. Vaughn
Backup PG: Dickau
(possibly a switch there, if Dickau can perform)
I may also move JT to point, and Glover to SG cos I like Dion.
No major trades, only if it happens in real life. Not til the offseason anyway.
GO HAWKS
Tue Oct 14, 2003 12:41 am
Hmm... used to be Charlotte.
PG: Jeff McInnis
SG: Vince Carter
SF: Jerry Stackhouse
PF: Antawn Jamison
C: Rasheed Wallace
bench: Shammond Williams, Hubert Davis, Rick Fox, George Lynch, Brendan Haywood, Scott Williams, Joseph Forte
Tue Oct 14, 2003 12:45 am
Denver
PG: Andre Miller
SG: Vincent Yarbrough or Voshon Lenard ( I will change them from game to game. If I need more shooting in a game i take Voshon Lenard)
SF: Camelo Anthony
PF: Nenê
C: Marcus Camby
I hate it to touch the Rosters. I want a realistic game. Not a team with 5 players with a rating 90 overall and 7 of them waiting on the bench to play 5 minutes.
