Chaser7, Yeah! I didn’t want to rip off the Lakers as I am getting a really great player in Kobe so I really had to give up my 3 stars!

I still don’t know who’ll be my 2nd option. I guess everyone better contribute to get some wins.

Short-handed Kings Win Over Bucks in Double OT
November 25

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 25 (AP)-- The Kings were without newly acquired players Kobe Bryant, Vladimir Radmanovic and Jordan Farmar but despite the odds the remaining players fought hard and got a win in double overtime.

The Sacramento Kings snapped a three-game skid by beating the Milwaukee Bucks 116-108 in double overtime Saturday night.

Chris Webber scored 27 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 21 points and 18 rebounds. Francisco Garcia led the Kings bench with 19 points and Brad Miller finished the game with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

"This was a huge win for us," Kings forward Chris Webber said. "Considering that we still don’t have our new coach and of course the fact that our new guys were not here tonight."

The Milwaukee Bucks’ four-game winning streak ended tonight after they squandered a 12 point lead to start the fourth period. The Bucks were led by Michael Redd who scored a game-high 35 points. Mo Williams had 17 points and 4 assists.

"I am really disappointed," Redd said. "I think we underestimated them because of their depleted roster and we payed for it dearly. I really felt like this was a game that we should have won."

Shareef Abdur-Rahim, John Salmons and Beno Udrih were placed on the starting line-ups to occupy the positions that Artest and company left. Abdur-Rahim made the best out of this opportunity as he was great all night, scoring and grabbing rebounds.

"I just made the most out of this opportunity. I just did what the coaching staff told me and I think I did a pretty good job," Abdur-Rahim said.

Milwaukee was leading the way from the first three quarters and they even had a 14 point lead early in the fourth, until the Kings rallied. Sacramento pressured the ball and they were able to get defensive stops. After a Webber dunk the Milwaukee lead was cut down to six, 81-75. With only a minute left Francisco Garcia tied the game at 85 after he converted a lay-up. And then Michael Redd came back and hit a jumper to give the Bucks a two point lead. The Kings went to Chris Webber and he converted on a tough lay-up to send the game into overtime.

In the first overtime, Sacramento had a three point lead with just 20 seconds left. The Bucks had possession and Michael Redd hit a three-pointer off a screen to tie the game at 103. The Kings had a chance to win it but Webber missed the potential game winner.

The second overtime was all Sacramento. They took control after Milwaukee got into an early penalty and Sacramento hit their free throws. They erected their biggest lead which was 11 points with 1 minute left. Michael Redd hit a three-pointer to end the game.

Sacramento will now head back home and ironically, they will play the Los Angeles Lakers, the team where they sent their three stars, Martin, Artest and Bibby. This should be a good one.

Notes: Sacramento was coached by their Assistant Ade Jud for this game. ... Kobe Bryant and company was already in California when the deal was finalized which was the reason they were not in Milwaukee. ... Milwaukee had 28 turnovers compared to 19 by the Kings. ... Sacramento was 2-3 on this Eastern road trip.

NBA Rumors: Saturday, Nov. 25

Image

The Sacramento Kings finalized a blockbuster deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Kings sent
Mike Bibby, Ron Artest and Kevin Martin to the Lakers, and they received superstar Kobe Bryant,
Vladimir Radmanovic and Jordan Farmar. And in ironic fashion, Kobe will face his former team in
his first game with Sacramento.

Are the Nets looking for a power forward? They might or might not. They really lack some depth
on this position as they really don’t have areal banger inside. They should really develop their
rookie Sean Williams who is an explosive leaper.

According to our sources the Clippers are trying to move one of their small forwards. If this
involves Corey Maggette, then for sure teams would love to get him. Maggette is an athletic
scorer who can really do anything he wants on the court because of his strength.

We shall update you on things as it further develops.

Yea I totally agree with Lamrock,
A) Kevin Martin is NOT a top 5 scorer, you are like fucking gay for that kid
B) At least Homicide made a very fair deal. That's probably what it would take to get him, thats why a trade hasn't happened.
C) You don't need to bold the topic creator, (eg. say homicide) because your obviously referring to him, this has been one of my pet peeves towards you, and let it go for so often.

InGottiWeTrust, Kobe is Kobe dude! He is the best player right now and that is what it would take to get him. Kobe can do what all those three guys can do, he can defend and definitely score. I just made a fair deal.

Lamrock93 and Chaser7, I appreciate it guys. Thanks! :D

NEW: Musselman New Coach

Eric Musselman Back as Kings Head Coach
Sunday, November 26

Image

Sacramento, CA - The Kings have announced today that they have rehired former head coach Eric Musselman.

"I know we're going to be the best-prepared team in the league now," Kings co-owner Joe Maloof told The Associated Press in a phone interview Saturday night. "We have always liked him a lot. We're really comfortable with the guy. Our whole family feels that way. With our new team, I really think that he will do a much better job than his previous season with us."

Eric Musselman first season with the Kings saw a disappointing 33-49 finish. It was the worst finish since the 1998-1999 season. But the Kings management decided to give him another run at the coaching job.

Musselman will now have a bonafide superstar in Kobe Bryant and a good combination of veterans and young guns at his helm. He will debut along with Kobe and company on their next game against the Lakers.

Hm... not sure if I've ever said this, but those big pictures that you start off your recaps with are something. They seem to give a real newspaper feel to the recap. Something about the big, close up images, compared to the 4 consecutive smaller ones, just looks good. But what's with the deal of your bigger images being a lot more blurrier than the others.

Kings Press Conference
November 27

Image

Sacramento, CA - The three newly acquired players; Kobe Bryant, Vladimir Radmanovic and Jordan Farmar and new head coach Eric Musselman were presented to the media early this afternoon. Kings co-owner Joe Maloof preceded with the press con. Here is the transcript.

Joe: Good Afternoon everyone! We are here today to present you our new players and head coach. I want to introduce to you our new players, Kobe Bryant, Jordan Farmar and Vladimir Radmanovic. And of course our new head coach, Eric Musselman. The floor is now open if you guys want to ask some questions.

Question 1: This is for Kobe, so were you surprised that you got traded away by your former team?

Kobe: Well, not really. My former team was struggling and so was Sacramento and that was probably the reason this trade happened. I really wasn’t playing too well and maybe that’s why they pulled the trigger on this one.

Question 2: Kobe a follow-up question, we know you have a trade kicker and you could easily disapprove any trade if you didn’t like a team, so what made you decide to go here in Sacramento?

Kobe: Hmmmm.. I kinda loved playing here. I still remember our battles with the Kings in the early 2000’s, and it was a really nice rivalry. And the fans, you just gotta love playing for them. They are basketball crazy.

Question 3: This is for Coach Eric, first of all congratulations on being the new head coach of the Kings. Coach, we are all curious how are you going to run the Kings offense?

Eric: Obviously, we have the best player in the league, so the offense will run through him. Our offense will mainly be a run and gun stlye of play, we are going to run the ball every opportunity we get. We have good rebounders and defenders which will make it easier for us to run.

Question 4: Coach Eric, how different is this team from the other teams you have coached?

Eric: Obviously, we have a great leader in Kobe. He is a very competitive guy who can really help any team he is playing for. And we have veterans like C-Webb, Brad, Reef who can still play at a high level. We have quality role players and young guys who can definitely play, I say we have a great chance to make some noise in this league.

Question 5: This is for Jordan and Vlade, so how do you feel being traded to a new team?

Jordan: For me, it was great since I will have a chance to play here and showcase my talent. Coach Phil never gave me enough minutes to really get my game going. So this is like a new life for me. I am really excited.

Vlade: I agree with Jordan, this a new beginning for us. I really didn’t fit in well with the offense we ran at LA and I think that was the reason why I struggled. This new offense definitely suits my style of play. And the transfer was not that difficult since Kobe and Jordan are also here.

Question 6: Kobe what do you think of your team?

Kobe: I think we have the potential to be a great team. We have the right mix of veterans and youth on this team. We are probably one or two pieces away from joining the NBA’s elite.

Joe: Sorry guys but we only have time for one last question..

Question 7: Kobe your first game as a King will be ironically against your former team the LA Lakers. Any predictions?

Kobe: This will be an emotional game for the three of us, especially for me. I won championships in LA and I thank the city and the fans for their support but I am on another team now and I will definitely do everything I can to give the Sacramento fans a win on Tuesday. I am really excited to face my former team and I believe the other players involved in this trade will definitely play hard.

Joe: So there you have it, that ends our press conference! Thank you for coming and watch out for the new Sacramento Kings!

Are the New Orleans management trying to get a shooting guard to their roster? That’s what some

Jackson can also play the two guard. This rumor is possibly worth nothing.

NBA Rumors: Thursday, Nov. 23

Welcome to the rumors page! There are several rumors going around the league right now so be
sure to check it out.

Jazz and Grizzlies working on a deal?

Image Image

Are the Jazz and Grizzlies working on a trade? That was what the league insiders are saying. Utah
might want to get Mike Miller as they really need help in the shooting guard department. Utah
lacks a great shooter and Miller can definitely fill that void. It is not known who the Jazz are going to
offer for Miller.

The Grizzlies are rumored to have put a power forward on the trade block. They have three very trade
able forwards in Stromile Swift, Darko Milicic and Hakkim Warrick.

Heat wants another center?

Image

The Miami Heat are trying to get another center and they are willing to give a power forward in
exchange. O’Neal and Mourning are nearing the end of their careers and the management will try to
get a replacement for them.

Wizards GM puts a PF on the trade block?

Image

Wizards GM have put a power forward in the trade block according to our sources. We still do not know
who the player is, but we believe it wont be Antawn Jamison since he has been playing really well this
season.

Lakers and Bobcats finalizing a trade?

Image Image

Sources have said that these two teams are trying to finalize a trade. The Lakers have just been involved
in a trade with the Kings and it looks like they are on the move once again.

That is all for today’s rumors. Check back next time for some updates and news from around the league.

Los Angeles Lakers 114 - Sacramento Kings 125

receiving a crowd of cheers. Kobe had a fabulous
night scoring 56 points in his Kings debut.

“King” Kobe Drops 56 Points Against his Former Team
November 28

SACRAMENTO, Nov. 28 (AP)-- Kobe Bryant walked off the court raising his right index finger to the cheering crowd. By his side, Chris Webber did the same -- a rare gesture of triumph for the long-suffering Kings star.

There was 1:30 left in the game and Sacramento had been in control since the middle of the second quarter. The Kings beat the Los Angeles Lakers 125-114 on Tuesday night, starting Kobe’s new life as part of a new team.

"I'm at a place right now in my career, I couldn't ask for anything better," said Webber, who had 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. “Having a teammate with Kobe’s caliber, you know that good things can only happen with your team.”

Bryant did it all -- 56 points, 8 rebounds, seven assists and five steals -- in a dazzling debut with Sacramento. He was introduced to a standing ovation and left to cheers that echoed from the rafters where the team's lone championship banner was hanging.

"Tonight was rocking, man," he said.

When Bryant had to, as he did for most of his other eleven seasons with the Lakers, he did it by himself.

Then, with the Kings ahead 27-26 with 6:30 left in the second quarter and Webber and Brad Miller on the bench, Bryant scored seven of Boston's next 11 points to make the score 38-28 before they re-entered.

"We're just trying to keep Kobe with that second unit so they have a go-to guy every time," recently hired coach Eric Musselman said. "And Kobe knows that it's his time."

Image
Kings’ Coach Eric Musselman talking to his boys during a timeout. He
was hired by the Kings after a disappointing start by Reggie Theus.

Miller had his moments. He scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting for a franchise that missed the playoffs last season for the first time in eight seasons.

Now, after the blockbuster trade for Bryant, Radmanovic and Farmar, the Kings are a popular choice to go into the postseason. Not bad for a team that had lost its chemistry and focus due to injuries and suspensions last season, finishing just 33-49 which was last in the Pacific Division.

Kobe Bryant’s performance along with his teammates definitely grabbed the attention of teams around the league.

"It's a good message to put out there," newly acquired Radmanovic said, "but we'll be tried every night."

Radmanovic started the game and had a good night scoring 14 points. Fellow newcomer Jordan Farmar added 4 points, 2 steals and 2 assists as a backup point guard.

Kevin Martin scored 31 points and Mike Bibby and Ron Artest both had 20 points, who were playing their second game as members of the Los Angeles Lakers. Lamar Odom added 17 points and had 8 rebounds.

“Kobe was just awesome," Odom said. "It seemed like he has developed chemistry with his new team. What’s scary is that this is just his first game with them."

Bryant led a second-quarter rally that gave the Kings control, expanding a 26-22 lead at the end of the first quarter to 53-44 at the half.

"I probably had the wrong matchup out there when I went to the bench," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "That's when he got it going. He scored, made plays for his teammates and defended pretty well."

Bryant was part of an up-tempo offense and scrappy defense that was missing from the Lakers’ slowed down triangle offense. All that changed when he arrived in Sacramento along with Vladimir Radmanovic and Jordan Farmar.

“It was tough to play against your former team,” Mike Bibby said. “Seeing the fans that has cheered you most of your career now going against you, it is really tough. But I know this part of a basketball career so we just have to deal with it.”

Bryant missed his first shot of the game.

"He was so hyped tonight that the first shot almost broke the backboard," Musselman said of Bryant.

Bryant scored 27 of his 56 points in the third quarter. He hit ten out of 11 shots including 2 three-pointers and went 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. His performance in the third blew the game wide open as the Kings finished the third leading by eighteen, 90-72.

The closest the Lakers came in the fourth quarter was 110-102, but Bryant scored the next three points.

The Kings’ duo of Bryant and Webber, has a long way to go before it matches the accomplishments of the 1950-51 Rochester Royals -- which gave the franchise its first and only championship.

“I really can’t say we are championship contenders,” Kobe Bryant said. “I do believe we need a player or two to give us some more talent boost. When that happens maybe we can turn some heads in this league.”

Notes: Martin, Bibby and Artest combined for 71 points led by Martin’s 31 but they have yet to win as part of the Lakers. ... Kings F Chris Webber hurt his arm in the third period but he was able to return late in the 4th quarter. ... The Los Angeles Lakers never had the lead in this game. ... Sacramento out rebounded the Lakers by ten, 47-37. ... In a funny note, Lakers F Luke Walton almost passed the ball to Kobe Bryant during a fight for the loose ball in the first quarter.

NBA Rumors: Tuesday, Nov. 28

Welcome to the rumors page! There are several rumors going around the league right now so be
sure to check it out.

Portland dealing Martell Webster?

Image

Sources are saying that swingman Martell Webster of the TrailBlazers have been put on the
trade block. He would be a great addition to teams that need athleticism and scoring in the forward
slot. He could also play the shooting guard position.

Some insiders also said that Portland may also ship out a point guard. They are currently loaded
at that position having players like Steve Blake, Jarrett Jack, Taurean Green and Sergio Rodriguez.

Kyle Lowry on the trade block?

Image

Rumor has it that the young Grizzlies point guard Kyle Lowry has been put on the trade block. This
move is quite possible since the Memphis Grizzlies are leaning more on the development of rookie
Mike Conley.

“I haven’t heard anything like that from the management,” Lowry said. “If they trade me then so be it,
if not, then I will be glad to stay here in Memphis. I love all the guys here.”

Take this things for what it’s worth. Check back next time for news and rumors from around the NBA.

wow nice game by Kobe, almost a triple-double(or quad damage  )

and one more thing. I think you need some better point guard, for example like Telfair
player or something like that. Also i think you need some young blood to run with Kobe. Then you are a big threat. Keep it up!

Really, the trade was good for both sides. I agree about getting a better PG, but not Telfair. I would actually rather have his cousin than him.
