Looking at the screen shot of the memphis with team on court I noticed the Mike Miller cyberface with the headband on. Just wondering where could I find that cyberface download? I've tried searching for him on the forum and download sections but got nothing

I'm assuming you mean a new font different to mine? I found that some fonts work and some don't. So it's a case of looking for one that you like and if it doesn't work, search for another one thats similar and see if that one works. I tried 6 or so and 3 worked, 3 didn't. You have to edit the text file like I did. Editting the top one and leaving the bottom as it is.

what lightning patch are you using?

Lighting was already discussed on page 2. Look for the post that has nvidia colour settings picture in it. I have already shared my lighting file. It's custom based off babylei's 3.2 beta. But the 2k8 lighting looks very similar to mine also. I checked the file and everything seems almost the same except ambient colour is darker (90 for me, 60 for 2k8). I don't like it as dark as everyone else it seems.

Albys, glad you liked the courts. I might do some more but if I do it will be small changes with a new 512x512 floor texture. It's hard work though so I can't promise anything, but I do hope to do some more.

planbzimp, the Mike Miller came from Sum 07. It's the best Miller I've seen, I don't know who made the hair file but it's very good. I can share it. I was thinking of sharing my entire grizzlies team in a team pack cause I've made new face for every player since it's my team.

I would really like black socks,but I just don't like thouse colored headbands.I actually changed teamgear.dbf to make them perfect.For example:gold for denver away,white for houston,new jersey,boston home,and a lot of other things.So when I play home with Cleavlend I hate to see them vearing anything but white headbands.It's somehow unrealistic to me.Maybe you could upload your roster file,and then,maybe I could make a special 3 or 4 roster files for my favorite teams,so that the cleavlend home thing,for example,won't hapen.....
And I can't thank tyou enough for the 1x 3.0 shoes!!

I can share the roster very soon. What I'm working on at the moment is changing the ratings for the top 8 or so players for every team with ratings machine based off this season stats, so that its more up to date. The other thing is changing primacy and offensive ability (and other things) so that the shot distribution is more realistic and not dominated so much by stars. I would say so far it's a big improvement but not perfect. It's to be used in combination with Kris's gameplay fix but with different sliders, because I've changed dunk ratings (for less dunks) and steals and other things. I've changed this for myself to enjoy the game more but if I can share it and others like it to then that's a good thing too.

So far I've done 10 teams and the scoring is more even. The hardest thing is point guard domination no matter how low there ratings are.

If you don't mind.. if I release the roster, if you change it for white headbands for the teams that use them, can you share the roster back with those changes? So we can all have 2 versions for home and away?

Well,I didn't actually do anything that is huge.denver gold away,boston,new jersey,clevlend(I think),houston white for home,and some other stuff,mostly teamgear.dbf.But,if I understood what you said you need teams with white home collor,right?So,as I said,I did a couldpe of them,and I don't watch nba much ,cus I have to download games from torrent,so I don't know whitch other teams I have to change.So if anyone knows,just say and I will change webber's rooster file to make it better,and AFFCOURSE it woun't be a problem!!!!!! .

On the rosters, Ive done 50% of teams. It takes alot of time.

So far the results are really good, not perfect.. there is still some moments where the cpu plays retarded, mainly with the PG backdown problem.

But it's alot better. All I've done is reinput the ratings for each player based on this years stats with ratings machine so that it's fair, and played with primacy, offensive ratings and inside scoring (for PGs) to better distribute the shots. So that the teams offense is more like their real life counterparts.

I can say so far this is what I've noticed, playing both against human and ai opponents and also watching the ai play each other.

Nine min quarters on superstar level

- more realistic blocks
- more realistic shooting percentage.. it's not always 50%fg for both teams anymore
- lots of midrange shots especially from shooters
- point guards still take too many shots but problem is only minor now
- superstars are less dominant but still dominant and are the leading scorers but no more 10/17 fg for someone like Antawn Jamison in one QUARTER
- subs patterns.. hmm hard to comment as I don't think the problem is as bad as others think.. basically the players that play 40 mins per game in real life will play about 30 mins.. players that play 20 mins per game will play alot less and will be subbed in and out alot
- more halfcourt orientated play rather then all out fast breaking but depends on the teams.. denver vs lakers will have alot of fastbreak

I'm very happy so far, it feels alot harder and feels like basketball. I only wish it didnt take so much time to change the ratings. But at least the results are good.

If I had to sum up, I'd say it's more simulation based now and not so arcadish. But it still has some fun arcadish element it's just alot less.

Can you try to make all C and PFs have better defense stats?Defensive aware,things like that,and maybe that will fix a bit soft post defense problem.No mater how you put the sliders,you can allways dunk with a better player.Allways!!

anyway,I fixed some things with teamgear.Made a perfect combination of socks and gear for houston and new orleans.And for denver I use team socks too,so it's white home,gold away.Better than allways white .There are some teams that have black for away,so they fit in perfectly,but still there are a lot other teams to fix....

I'll have a look at the post defense. I think already it's a bit better, but maybe there is more I can do. I found it's worst when it's a superstar going to the hoop, it seems like no matter what you do they will always score. That's fixed a bit as well, but again I'll have another look.

Just try to make stronger contacts between the players.I remember playing 07,and with mcgrady you could never dunk if there is a defender in front of him.He did that adjusted lay ups all the time,and it was just fine.In 08 he dunks 95% of the time.He misses only if I am in the lead,and that is just another problem

p.s.White for home collor will fit 95% of the teams.In original rosters,all teams have colored gear for home,but it's easy to see that in real life most of them use white,cus it fits verry well .
So,for example,bobcats have black away(witch is good) and orange for home.And I changed home to white,changed socks to team,and....PERFECT!!
This roosters will be verry good when we are done with them! .Well,actually,when you and a bit of me are done with them!....

I tryed decreasing Mcgrady's speed and quickness from around 85 to 75 and it was better,but not good enough.You can't just run to the basket every time,but every 3rd or 4th time yes.And if you dribble it's easy again.Maybe decreasing dribbling stats too?But still,IF you get to the basket,you will dunk!No contant....
So,I think you should try that.About 10 less for all players,or only players who have more than 80:speed quickness,and maybe dribblings.It will be better atleast.... .Now I will try defensive aware +10 for every player in a team,and then I will play with "slower" T-mac against them,see if it's more like 07....

I don't know if you know how to make thouse programs that change things automaticly.If you know try this:
Defiinitetly EVERY player,not only superstar players needs fixing.I blew away with Battier past Bowen(def.aware 91 ),so:
speed,quickness,dribblings about -10.
Defensive aware(maybe blocks,but not steals) +10,+15,or even +20(Stupid EA!!!! )
I can't really try this by editing some players,so do this for every player in the game,and then we will try it.OK??
If you don't know how to make thouse programs will will ask someone who knows,like kris,for example.

I haven't replied goodlikesweeper, but Ive taken your comments onboard. Just trying to sort out if there is anything I can do about it, or if it is an inherient flaw in the game.

I've finished the rosters. The team offense (distribution of the shots) is good, the point guard domination issue is good. It's dependant on subs though. I'm not happy with the subs from the new ILT. It's ok except sometimes at the end of game the scrubs (bench) are in instead of the starters. This doesn't happen with default EA subs at end of game it's better, but unfortunately the starters play too much. And therefore score too much (its still balanced scoring tho). So I'm not sure on the sub thing, which I like more and which is best.

The other thing is the interior defense in the paint. It should be harder and more physical with more bumping, at least for the good defensive teams. For some teams maybe it's realistic now. But I will see what I can do with those suggestions goodlikesweeper. I should be ok to do the changes in dbf with the bat file or manually.

And once those 2 issues are sorted, I will release. Hopefully very soon.

Real shoe patch 3.5 is ready and I will release them together soon.

One thing... to use my rosters you will need these things installed.

ILT1 (which includes Kris's 1.2 gameplay aiact patch) - this roster is designed to further improve what Kris has already done using dbf edits and ratings changes for this seasons play.
Realshoes patch (either 1x or 2x) otherwise shoes will look wrong
Lagoa or Loosers court patches... nothing bad happens if you don't but they are just so cool and look so good. But you need to use 1x shoe patch if you use this and/or Pdubs 2x arm sweat patch.

Hey webber,please try It's like that patch!!!!They fixed bad post defense and lack of contacks 100%!!!!!Really,they did!!I think you should see what they did,it will help you I'm sure,cus some things are really 100% fixed,and some remain unsolved......but I mean,it is a difficult game now!Cpu shoting open 3pts,you can't allways dunks with any player,you can't drive to the basket,when you give the ball to a C or PF for a post-play,and press a dunk,contack allway acour.....just check it out!!
And one more thing,I think you are totaly right when you say that patching this crapy game is on the first place,and not the credits to theese patchers who say delete it it's mine,even if someone asks them later for the permision to use it.....you'r the man!!!

Yeah it's frustrating. I'll give you example, the real shoes patch crashes for some people. So I convert textures to half the size so that they are 1x shoes. This is for myself to use. But I share because I know that others would want this but don't know how and it takes hours of work. Someone like Ultranix (if he made the shoes) would say to delete 1x patch and make my own from scratch. That would be insane, and all the people that don't have hours spare to resize the shoes would have to use 2x or nothing. That doesn't make sense to me. Luckily, CHNxiaoju hasn't complained about it and people who have crashes can use 1x patch and everybody wins. I don't care about credits, CHNxiaoju deserves it all.

Yeah ILT is great. I've noticed what you say, but I still would like to tweak a little more so that it's harder for the cpu to dribble drive into paint. I've noticed it's harder for human user, in first game I shot 35%. I probably also need to check with different teams. Maybe some teams have weaker interior defense then others. To use offense now seems hard yeah and it's very good.

But just now I've been running cpu vs cpu games to test sub patterns and fatigue, and both teams are shooting 50% with lots of easy layups. I think subs are better now though. If I make changes to defense it will only be minor ones as it's alot better now as it is, like you said. Maybe reducing dribble and inside scoring rating for SG/SF/PG might do it.

And one more(important) thing:
Why isn't anyone complaining about that script when user and cpu team has to have equal score,if you know what I mean.
For example,if I have -10,then a 3 with Mutombo will go in over someones hand!!Just so that the score can be equall and the game more "fun".
So,I play with denver vs boston,and in the first quarter,they nailed me!!!0-10,7-14,really hard for me to catch them.But then in the third quarter,when that script becomes active,5 threes with AI,Ray allen missing dunks and at the end I loose only with -2,instead with -20!!!
Really unrealistic!!!!That thing is bugging me since live 04!And EA didn't change it yet.....and I don't see anyone complaining here on the forum.....
I mean,why can't I score a three if I have +10?So that I can have +13,and win easily....
And why can't CPU dunk when they have +10,so that I can loose realistic!!!!!??I watched bos-den game,and boston killed them!They had +10,and then +15,and even maybe +20 at the end(not sure ).Can you do something with AIACT to fix that,or do you understand what I was saying atleast,so that you could ask someone,cus I aint a real patcher,so noone really listens to me...

I've been getting PMs about how to edit trax list. I don't like PM's because everyone else can't see them and people ask same questions over and over. It's better to share info for everyone to see. Especially with how to edit stuff like 3pt shooting styles in aiact.

So here is more info on how to edit trax list if you are having trouble.

Everything you see in the trax list is in the locale.eng file. If it isn't in the locale file, there is no way for you to see it ingame. If you delete all letters and words from locale file, all text will be invisible ingame.

So if you wanted "Play Now" to say "Quick game" you just need to Search/Find (F5) for "Play Now". This program is called Textpad.

The thing is you can't just type Quick game in. You have to preserve the amount of characters. For play now it's 9. 4 for play, 4 for now plus 1 space.

Hit Insert key when replacing words and it will overwrite old word without adding any more new characters otherwise it will all get messed up. Unfortunately we don't have proper locale editor and this is the best we can do. So we need to make sure it stays at 9. If we wanted it to be blank we would add 9 spaces. Back to Play Now.. replacing it with Quick game wouldn't fit, so it would need to be quickie or something else with 9 or less characters.


It works the same way for any song title or album title. The important thing is there is no way for you to see text in menus unless it is in locale file. So if you can't find it, check spelling mistakes. Or make sure the match case box in find is unchecked. And that text and not hex is selected.

Could you write how to exactly edit EA Trax, because, I tried to write mine
songs names and locale is break down, most of text became invisible, or appeares smth like: txt_info..

P4L, the answer in the post that you quoted. You have to hit INSERT key, and make sure you use same amount of characters as was originally. If you make a 10 letter word, when it was originally 9 letters.. everything beyond that point will become invisible ingame. It's important to backup your file every so often so if this happens you don't have to start all over again.

goodlikesweeper, yeah it's frustrating man. I think it possible to blow teams out it's just very hard. I think this script simulates that teams tend to relax when they get a lead and basketball is a game of runs back and forth.. but still yeah it's probably too exaggerated the effect.

I'm looking foward to sharing these rosters.

Just a quick update.

I had 16 teams for hotspots done, and had a power blackout and I hadn't closed the program yet so they hadn't saved.

Since I had to start again it's taken longer then I wanted it to. It's nearly done, this time Ive made sure to do all players on each roster and especially the rookie hotspots that have 60 for each spot. If the rookie hasn't played much I used the preseason to help also. I've tried to use same formula as EA and it's fair for all players, so superstars don't get special treatment.
