Nets Topple Pistons In New Jersey On McDyess' Return
Nets 96-89 Pistons
Anotnio McDyess stood toe-to-toe with his fromer club, the Pistons last night, as the Nets took on the Pistons - currently the best team in the NBA with a record of 11-1. The first quarter was dominated by the visiting Pistons who slammed the offensive boards and subsequently converting many second chance opportunities. The hoem crowd became restless and Kidd rallied his men and combined with Carter to get New Jersey back on track. Chauncey Billups hit the open shots time after time though and sent Detroit into the tunnel at half-time leading by seven points. 'Mr. Big-Shot' finished up with 26 points. New Jersey came out in the second half and McDyess and Magoire combined effectively to help restrict Rasheed Wallace to outside shots. Kidd made a few steals and raced to the bucket to get the fans on their feet and Carter threw down one of the dunks of the season with a windmill jam over Tayshaun Prince. Rip Hamilton and Billups hwoever, bought the game close again late on with three point shots to make the score 90-83, however, Jason Kidd kept his cool at the line like any times before and sealed the win which now sends New Jersey to the top of the NBA, next up, they face the statiscally worst team in the NBA - the Toronto Raptors.
Player Of The Game - Jason Kidd - 21pts, 6stls, 11assts

Last night saw two of the NBA's best point-guards in Jason Kidd and Chauncey Billups go head-to-head.

Kidd & Carter Make Raptors Extinct In New Jersey
Nets 87 - 84 Raptors
The Toronto Raptors, at 3-12 are statiscally the worst team in the NBA. They travelled to New Jersey to take on the best, and to face their former player Vince Carter. Since arriving in New Jersey, Carter has rejuvinated his career and fromed on of the most lethal partnerships the NBA has ever seen with veteran Point-Guard Jason Kidd. Jason Maxiell and Nenad Krstic were awarded their first starts of the season in the paint. However, it was Toronto who took the initiative early on with TJ Ford running the floor, finding good passes to open players. Joey Graham proved to be a threat all night from outside the key and gave Richard Jefferson alot to think about. The score was tied at half-time due to steals from Jason Kidd, blocked shots and good rebounding by the Nets. Kidd came out again in the second-half and put on a show with a flashy array of passes to highflying Vince Carter who threw down some athletic finishes to get the crowd on their feet. Chris Bosh remained largely ineffective throught the game. Maxiell finished up with 4 blocks, 9 points and 8 rebounds whilst his defensive partner Krstic posted 13 points and 7 rebounds. Kidd and arter took over in the fourth quarter to bring the scores level with a minute left to play. Ford was closely marked and succumbed to the pressure as Kidd swiped the ball and raced away for a easy lay-up, he then hit what was the decisive shot of the game. When Jefferson's lay-up was swatted away by Bosh, Kidd hit the fadeaway three pointer with 2 seconds left on the shot-clock. From there, there was no way back back for the rock-bottom Raptors and the Nets remain impressive.
Player Of The Game - Jason Kidd - 27pts, 8assts, 5stls

Chris Bosh was kept quite : The partnership of Kidd & Carter proved valuable again
