Finally made it to the top, now to initiate my descent.

Really though, all my players have been contributing in all areas. LBJ has been awesome. Bogut is blocking shots, who would of thunk it? JJ and Howard have been solid. The role players have been contributing on both ends, and having big nights as well. I like the way my team is going, and hope that it keeps up in the future.

Ty: I think you had a flawless draft. Most would rise to the top through trades and waiver pickups, but man, you had a vision for players that will do well this season, and it worked.

That being said, you're like Indy of last year, so you'll choke near the end and fail.

I think my draft went to plan. Guys like Gay and Horford have exceeded expectations. Been disappointed in Noah and Tyrus though. Hopefully the goodluck keeps up, but I'm sure something will go wrong eventually (eventually having Tinsley on the team).

Don't be. I think he's going to be crap because of that injury bothering him.

that's cool then. I still got Beno.

surprisingly I'm in the middle of the pack right now. CP3 & Dirk are keeping me in it.

Dirk? Lies, all lies! He's not the fantasy player of last year, although his assist numbers are definitely great.

My lineup is nice, but all of them are so inconsistent.

Gordon is giving me the dumps in percentages.
My valuable players right now are only Duncan and Antawn.

^ No way, man. It's gotta be LeBron. I was browsing through teams, and I was looking at Ty-Land's, and man, LeBron is a huuuge stat-stuffer across all categories. The impact he makes is ridiculous.

Paul makes a good case.

espn has an interesting "player rater tool". we're not exactly specifically sure how yahoo makes it ranking system but espn does.

definitely worth a look. and Paul does rank at the top in both averages & totals

and consider his draft position- he went 15th... crazy value for that pick

btw this is fantasy bball so PER's don't count towards building a case for fantasy mvp ;)

LeBron's at #13 in that link, and comparing both stats, I'd say LeBron has more fantasy value, though Paul's probably the best point guard in the league

comparing how much better or worse a player is in 8 categories relative to the rest of players and totaling them up at the least makes for good MVP discussion ;)

i think people tend to overlook his steal totals and fg%. he's upped his fg% from a dismal 43% to a decent 47% and he's at about 3 spg and steals is a stat that's hard to get in fantasy bball.

imo it depends on what you prefer

Lebron James gives you production across the board- league leader in scoring, shoots a good fg %, good blocks and assists for a SF, lots of steals. and as a bonus he's on national TV quite often

though he goes to the ft a lot and shoots only 71%

Chris Paul +/-'s
dominates assists and steals, scores and shoots high%, low TO's for the pg position. though his rebounding #'s and 3's are average for a PG

close call. i guess you can also make a fair argument for bryant and/or marion

LeBron, Garnett, Dwight Howard, Josh Smith, Baron Davis would be my top 5 fantasy guys this season.

Anyway, who's been derailed by fantasy player injuries so far?

I've been fine until Redd and Kirilenko went down last week, possibly costing my matchup against Ty. Then again, I was probably going to get juggernauted anyway

For me, an elite fantasy player from ten categories would produce about four or five (maybe more) of the following:

21PPG, 10RPG, 8APG, 2SPG, 1.5BPG, 2 3PTM, +50% FG%, +80%FT, <2TO

Then again my fantasy standards are mixed :P

id go with
pg- Paul
sg- Bryant
sf- James
pf- KG
c- Howard

that team would rock except ft% & to

i'd really like to add Kaman to that list since he's been out of his mind this season and was probably drafted in the later rounds but can't give him the nod over Beast Howard or Camby

my team is already sucky to begin with so i guess Kevin Martin's injury has set the team back... but not as much as Gasol's performance this season. he must be spending too much time thinking about what's in store post game with his BFF Juan Carlos Navarro

I wish my team punched above their weight.

I dropped Navarro similarly because I was thinking of the same thing :P

That's not PER. That's nba.com's shitty "EFF" rating that has been proven to cause anal leakage if used.

I'd say CP3, Lebron, KG, Kobe, and Marion are in the top 5.

others just outside that imo:
Caron- This guy has quietly had a monster all-around season. with above average shooting percentages and a career best 40% 3p% and 2+spg. oh and his reb & ast numbers aren't bad. He's EASILY top 7 or 8 in my book.
Nash- Shoots a really high percentage and shoots it a lot. hits a good number of 3s and leads in apg. all this helps you overlook his high number of TPG.
Dirk- His numbers are slightly down from his MVP season last year, but they are still pretty solid numbers.
Amare- Still has to be one of the top, if not the best, Cs in fantasy bball (yeah yeah I love Dwight more than any of the other Cs, but his shitty FT% kills it)
Josh Smith- A bit of a stretch here, but the awful shooting percentages across the board bring his value down despite the monster stl & blk numbers.
