I can't believe the disgusting world that is reality TV. Yesterday I worked 13 hours at a filmed audition for a new reality show on MTV called America's Best Dance Crew. I operated the camera for the casting director, so I was in the room where all the auditions take place, as were the 2 executive producers. At one point one of them gets an e-mail on her blackberry saying that in their Atlanta footage they didn't get enough tears or other negative emotions. So before the next group comes in they decided ahead of time that they would be as negative as possible and as harsh as possible to try and piss them off for the cameras. This group came all the way to Chicago from Pittsburgh and were damn good actually. The judges go on to talk about how terrible they are with comments that they had basically prepared before they went on. Dispicable.

I felt awful to be involved because I was in charge of letting the camera crew that was outside the audition room know when they were about to come out.

Oh yeah. This is still MTV that we are talking about. The way they through money around was pretty unbelievable.

For example, they wanted to put something black over the window for lighting reasons and to keep people from seeing inside. Construction paper and black painters tape would have done the trick. They somehow found a way to spend over $100 on it.
