Stupid Trades with ESPN Trade Machine

Postby benji on Sat Oct 13, 2007 12:53 pm

It is kinda fun to make some stupid lopsided trades.

Favorite so far:
Knicks trade Jerome James, Quentin Richardson, Jared Jeffries, Malik Rose, and Stephon Marbury for Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Tony Parker

I know the Knicks give up a lot, and they already have Curry, Randolph and Jamal Crawford, but I think this makes them better in the long run. Strengthens the bench.

Stupid trade? or not so much?

Kobe Bryant traded to the Wizards for Gilbert Arenas and Antonio Daniels

Of course this wouldnt happen. Unless both players signed extentions so they wouldnt bolt when they become free agents in the next couple years.

Booo. Kobe for Gilbert is far too realistic.

Pacers trade:
Marquis Daniels
Jeff Foster
Mike Dunleavy
David Harrison

Pacers recieve:
Kevin Garnett
Steve Nash

Boston trades:
Kevin Garnett

Boston recieves:
Jeff Foster
Mike Dunleavy
David Harrison
Marquis Daniels

Phoenix trades:
Steve Nash

Phoenix recieves:
Troy Murphy

Man. Look at how badly Phoenix and Boston tear up the Pacers.

Aside from the obvious roster issues with that many players, I would actually like to be the Knicks after that deal. The team would be just as good and have a future.

Sonics-Bulls-Wizards-Jazz Trade

Not as good as the Knicks one; but I managed to trade the entire Sonics team outside the rookies.

Stephon Marbury going to San Antonio and being coached by Popovich. Instant forumula for success if you ask me.

Not really, as benji said..
benji wrote:The team would be just as good and have a future.

Almost all are expiring contracts, if the players don't sign back, the Knicks have massive cap space to rebuild, which is a good thing. If the desired players sign back, it is also a good thing. Just look at the lineup.

C: Al Jefferson
PF: Channing Frye
SF: Adam Morrison
SG: Brandon Roy
PG: Raymond Felton

Primoz Brezec
Craig Smith
James Jones
Gerald Green
Sean May
Mark Madsen
Walter Herrmann
Greg Buckner
Othella Harrington

The only problem are backup PGs.
They have hustle guys and bigmen in the bench with Smith, Madsen, May, Brezec.
Swingmen in Jones and Green. A shooter in Fabio, and veteran presence with Buckner and Harrington.

Portland and Minny got players back which they didn't want and traded off in the first place.

I managed to trade the entire Sonics team outside the rookies

And fill the team with a lot of good players. Sonics lover. :shake:
HE'S USING HYPNOSIS!

Its not the Knicks getting so many players that makes that trade hilarious, it is the Blazers getting Zach Randolph back for their entire future.

I thought it was a great way to illustrate what an inept GM Isaiah Thomas is. Look what he could have for the same price as the players traded. But the Z-Bo thing was solid too.

The first one, yeah. I was just messing around in it, after trying a trade someone else posted in the Lakers thread to see if it would even work. Knew the Knicks had lots of hefty contracts you could swap for better players.

Sometimes I dick around in the trade machine for no reason other than to try plausable and implausable trades.

I have no life during the week.

Bulls give up Ben, Tyrus and Luol and gain Bosh and Amare, I'd do it.
Randy - 'Did you know Earl that before we was humans we was monkeys?'
Earl - 'Hmmm, What were we before we were monkeys?'
Randy - 'I don't know...I don't even remember being a monkey'

Neither Phoenix nor Toronto would, though.
