They released some of these a few weeks ago and one of them showed Sting delivering an elbow drop seemingly after springboarding off the top rope to a STANDING Jeff Jarrett. Therefore I will reserve judgement on this game.

Hmmm....very interesting. A lot of the moves look kind of excessively violent and exaggerated, but that's certainly within my tolerance. If a wrestling game doesn't have a good grapple system, that ruins it for me right off the bat. Like Smackdown - there's no skill whatsoever to pull off a move and no skill whatsoever to reverse it. If you just mash the right trigger continually it's highly unlikely anyone will ever perform a grapple move on you.

I'll definitely keep my eye on this though.

EDIT: Sting using a torture rack and a piledriver doesn't do much to remedy my previous complaint.

So the second one with the actual gameplay footage looks almost exactly like SVR in every way. Great.

What do you think is the greatest, SVR 08 or Tna impact?

http://www.wrestlinggamers.com has a ton of info on the game along with screens and video.
This game looks really good. Im actually hoping its more fun than SvR08, even though i dont even watch TNA. They have alot of my favorite mid card wwe fired talent.

SvR all the way, though after seeing some gameplay footages, it's the same animation with high-end graphics.

You have to be less than 15 years old if your saying this...Sting was in several WCW games back in the day.

the game looks great graphically
but not loving that some high flyer specific moves aren't limited to the high flyers
sting doing a barrel roll over the rope?..or the springboard moonsault reverse ddt?
i think they should keep those to aj styles and christopher daniels or something
haven't seen any specials yet either so i'd like to see some more gameplay videos
but so far..looks great but how bout finishing off those wrestlers with their own character specific moves or something

Yes you are, the emoction you used explains it.

On topic, wow, the graphics are awesome, I don't know much about wrestling but the gameplay looks smooth. (Y)

I think its funny how TNAs game has awesome detection as far as moves, collisions, standing on turnbuckles in its first try, yet smackdown in its 9th title still have body parts going through each other, legs going through ropes when the are on top of the turnbuckle, when the player lifts another persons hand they dont even touch, moves flip flop wrestlers as soon as they hit the wrestler after a top rope move, and even hair will go through the persons body. Just goes to show how Yukes/THQ are just using Smackdown 1 with updated graphics and modes. Oh they did add foot planting, too bad it makes them look like robots when they walk.

Doesnt look like wwe will ever get a next gen game till their contract with Yukes/THQ is up in like 2010. Till then they will just keep using smackdown 1 engine, updating graphics, story mode, and adding a couple cool features. Hopefully after the contract runs out, EA or 2k can get the wwe license and actually build a next gen wwe game from ground up.

Hmm... Sounds eerily reminiscent of a basketball game franchise that has been dragging its feet for a few years now...

EA handling WWE? Sounds like a death of a game franchise to me.
