Famous people you've met..

Postby Doobie on Wed Oct 10, 2007 5:22 am

Well theres probably a thread bout this already but today I was looking through my autographs and decided to revive this thread. I met all these people thanks to my old job in McDonalds and well the two people I was most flattered to meet were Q-tip and Patrick Ewing. Patrick Ewing I was literally about to die and well his autograph as well as Q-tips are both always with me in my wallet. Besides that I met Tim Thomas, Cam'ron, Chris Rock, Fabolous, DJ clue, and boxer Winky Wright. Any stories or people you've met from you guys?

I've met no one worth bragging about... my best friend seems to run into famous people everytime he leaves the house. He talked to Geoffrey Rush on a train then saw him again a few weeks later, he accidentely bumped into Jared Leto when he was here and saw some other guy who I'm completely forgetting.

I've met Goran Visnjic while playing pool in Croatia. I managed to get autographs of the whole Slovenian basketball team.. while they were playing in my town. I must say Rasho Nesterovic (who I met before twice alread) is a really laid back cool guy. I live like 500 meters from Sasa Vujacic so while he is home I see him daily, good guy to know even if I didn't like him at first, cause he seemed really cocky. Other then those guys no one important.

I met Toni Kukoc in 1998, got an autographed bulls cap... and various ex-yugoslavian musicians, singers and rappers nobody outside of the balcans would give a crap about...

bumped into actor Steve Buscemi and spilled his beer during a film festival in town, and also drank coffee a table next to Bono from U2...

Being in Brisbane, you don't meet many famous people. My mate is trying out for the Olympic swim team but he does 5 k open swim so hardly anyone follows that. He's came 7th in the last World Championships. And my class mate for 3 years is number 1 in the world for long jump for U21s.

Apart from that not really... I had a chance to meet Lil Jon last Firday. But I was working and he was just outside in the mall. But girl from work went to see him perform at Chi Bar and then went to the afterparty. She called in sick.

I confirm that Dwyane is telling the truth.
Missing out on Iggy's visit was a sad day for me. So was Iverson's visit a few years back.

I only met Paul Pierce. He visited the univ.

I once skipped an hour long line to a sports pub (The Holy Grail) in Christchurch by befriending a couple of members of the Argentinan rugby team (they were out after a test match loss to the All Blacks)....

that's about it though for me....

I guess since Stephane Lasme signed with the Warriors, I can say I've met someone famous.

Also I guess I've met couple "famous" ultimate frisbee players, which doesn't mean that much outside the sport.

Mikki, he meant Jerry "The King" Lawler and Andre the Giant.

Seriously, Stack was part of this year's NBA Madness (I think he's the only NBA player to grace this year's event in Manila), then Iggy was with Frye in 06.

Somehow I just repeated the posts above.

I haven't met anyone that famous. I just saw some local celebs but never came that close to them (distance-wise). :|

When I was a baby, I peed on the neighbor guy from Married With Children.

I met (well, not met, but passed on a stairway) George Lucas at Disney World.

Gordon from Sesame Street. Woooot.

Magic Johnson. At Burger King.

Chelsea Handler.

Jennifer Granholm. John Engler. Various representatives, etc.

I saw John Amaechi from a distance. Although I have not met them I have also seen Morris Peterson, Mateen Cleaves, Jason Richardson, and Marcus Taylor off the court. Probably some other Spartans.

That's all I can think of right now.

George Gregan came into work a few minutes after we had closed. Our night manager kicked him out and my mate said, 'hey, that was George Gregan'... so our night manager ran outside to try and get him back in.

I didn't get that drew... can u explain?

I like Gregan. He should have been captain up till he retired... anyways, it was just funny the night manager had to go and chase him. My mate who actually follows Union didnt give a rat's ass.

Oh yeh, you off work today?

EA Sports put us up in the same hotel as the NBA draftees for the Community Day back in June. The day of the Draft I rode the elevator with Greg Oden when I went to meet with the other guys in in the lobby.
