Dany Heatley, the cover boy for NHL 2004 got into a major car crash. Both players involved in the crash are in critical conditions.
This is the latest of many incidents of EA Sports cover boys getting into unfortunate situations. Michael Vick, cover boy for Madden 2004, was injured in the preseason this year and is out for six weeks. Marshall Faulk from Madden 2003 hasn't quite recovered his old game prior to a series of injuries. Similar things have happened to two other Madden cover boys, Daunte Culpepper and Eddie George. This is generally known as the Madden Curse but now it seems to have extended to the NHL.
Maybe the reason EA picked Vince was because he was already injured and they figured he couldn't get any worse from the curse

No one on the cover of Live has fallen victim to major injury:
Live 95: Horry/Starks
Live 96: Shaq
Live 97: Richmond
Live 98: Tim Hardaway
Live 99: Antoine Walker
Live 2000: Duncan
Live 2001: KG
Live 2002: Francis
Live 2003: Kidd
Francis missed quite a few games in 2001/2002 due to migraine headaches, but apart from that, the "curse" doesn't seem to extend to NBA players.

Then just don't make any reason for anybody to flame you. As simple as that.

... so make more mature contributions. I don't want to flame you saying that, man, but when people starts making remarks at you, you have to ask some questions about yourself

Andrew, players in NBA Live don't get injured, hence they stay that way in real life! Or maybe it's the other way around, and NBA Live is cursed because they always have healthy cover players? Maybe finally getting Vince on the cover means that players in the game will be injured during gameplay? Who knows!!

Old School Fool, I say this in the nicest possible way, but you bring some of it upon yourself. Recently, you've been digging up topics that feature discussions that can't really go any further, as well as making some posts that really are just for the sake of posting.
If you post pointlessly or dig up old threads that should be left be, you are going to irritate people. I don't think you've been flamed thus far - people are just expressing displeasure for posts that either interrupt the flow of the discussion or resurrect old threads that need not be resurrected.
If you are flamed, then the matter will be seen to. But you have to make a positive contribution and use good judgement when bumping up old threads.

I didn't even see anyone flame..you made a bad joke and we let you know it was a bad joke. If you don't make immature junior high jokes that are very weak then no one will have a reason to flame you

This just in, Dan Snyder, one of the players involved in the crash, has passed away from his injuries. He had been in critical condition for the whole time. This is truely tragic and all my sympathies to his family and friends...
I guess this somehow intensifies the presence of the curse.
Mon Oct 06, 2003 4:23 pm
Yeah Snyder died and Mr. Heatly who was on the cover is facing felony charges for 3-15 years in prison...Adding further insult to injury for the Cover Curse
