Damir Markota waived!

After his interview last week stating that his was going out at least 3 times a week during the season, and it was the Bucks fault because he wasn't getting any playing time. No we need another big, hopefully a banger that can be an injury reserve.

What were they supposed to do?

It was either trade him or accept the stupid requests made by his people. Trading him would of been even worse, ecause he got exactly what he wanted in the first place.

Exactly. If they wanted Yi on the team - which they obviously did since they drafted him and have worked so hard on getting him to come to Milwaukee - then they don't really have a choice but to find a compromise.

Not a big deal, i think we need more bigs that are ready to play if we need them. Not to throw in someone who has little experience. Maybe we are going after Varajou or another big in the process? I still think we could use another big. After Yi, Bogut, and Charlie if he plays PF....Gadz and Jake arent exactly good backups. And if we cant resign Charlie, we may just go with Sessions and Greer and hope for the best and use that money on a big instead of on Bell.

We don't have enough money for Varejao. So he's out of the question. I imagine we will bring Noel Felix and a few other scrubs to training camp and whoever plays the best will get a partially guaranteed contract. If we don't resign Bell, I hope we aren't relying entirely on Greer and Sessions (who hasn't been signed yet BTW). Would rather throw some money at Troy Hudson, CJ Miles or Dee Brown. If we need another big maybe we could get Skinner back.

i think part of the yi deal is he gets to pick the 5 starters and who is on the court with him at all times, so he can maximize his exposure

My guess would be Bogut, Villanueva, Mason, Redd and Williams, though perhaps Yi will be in there by the end of the year.

I'm putting my money on:
C- Bogut
PF - CV
SF - Simmons
SG - Redd
PG - Mo

The projected starting line-up for last season before injuries. Then the bench roles will be:
SF/SG Mason
PF/C Yi
PG/SG Bell (as long as he is resigned)
C/PF Gadz

That's a solid 9 man rotation.
Then you can have Noel, Greer and Voskul as further depth in case of injuries and foul trouble, leaving Storee on the IR and Sessions (if we sign him) in the D-League.

Apparently Bell has not decided to play in Greece going from one source on RealGM, as the team trying to get him to play has thrown money now at a young Serbian PG who played a major role in there U19 World Title. Hopefully this is reliable and will mean Bell will resign. Otherwise I hope we try and trade for Sarunas. We could offer the Warriors a second with a scrub perhaps.

The Bucks also have looked at some free agents in the past few days, including Dee Brown, who played for the Utah Jazz last season. Brown, the former University of Illinois star, became expendable for the Jazz when it acquired Jason Hart and Ronnie Price as backups for point guard Deron Williams. As a rookie, the 6-foot Brown played in 49 games last season and averaged 1.9 points and 1.7 assists. Brown worked out for the Bucks on Monday and Tuesday at the Cousins Center and impressed team officials. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Hmmm...interesting. I remember last time we got a PG that played for Utah the season before, he turned out pretty good.

He looks like the apparent replacement is Bell doesn't resign. Interestingly though, the Bucks did their press call for season ticket holders yesterday in both the morning and afternoon. In the morning calls Coach Larry K was saying they hope Bell resigns, and by afternoon they were saying it is highly likely to happen shortly.

Other interesting things from the press release: Bogut is already training at the Cousins Centre. Larry K said he is in the best shape of his life, and is up to 270lbs. Both CV and Simmons are playing 5 on 5 again and apparently looking good. Larry K said defence is the focus of training camp, and any player that under performs on that end of the court during games would be yanked.

Apparently with Dee Brown, we are also bringing in some Euro's to try out for training camp. Hopefully one ends up being a diamond in the rough (alongside Sessions of course who I think could turn into a nice player down the track). If we sign Brown we should have one spot left for a big. My money is on Noel Felix or possibly Alexander Johnston.

If Bell is out of the equation, then I would rather take Dee Brown or trade for Sarunas. At least in Brown you get a guy that can defend to a certain standard and isn't going to create chemistry issues or demand court time. Plus, Brown would be cheaper at this stage.

Supposedly we will get Bell's decision tomorrow. Please come back for the love of God!

Apparently Bell has been offered 2,5 million euros to join Panatinaikos, which is way more than the Bucks has to offer. If he ends up coming back, you Bucks fans owe him a bowl of tzatziki.

I agree with you Ty, except for the trading for Sarunas part.

Troy Hudson seems to be one of those guys that has always thought he's better then he is, and always will. Even as he gets older he'll still be confused and depressed that he's not making more money and getting more playing time. Not really what you need in Milwaukee.

Dee Brown is a tough defensive blue collar player, he'd be a nice compliment to Mo Williams off the bench, and I think could become a pretty good backup in a more normal role.

Sarunas will cause nothing but problems. He has a huge ego, and has been slamming the way of life in the US and the NBA in general since he got here, and just developed a really bad attitude quickly, which is a big reason why we shipped him out in the GS deal.

Charlie Bell won’t be returning to the Milwaukee Bucks. According to Mark Bartelstein, Bell’s agent, Bell has made the decision not to accept the Bucks’ multi -year offer or qualifying offer for one year. “I think the waters have been poisoned to point where he doesn’t want to go back there,’’ Bartelstein said Wednesday in a telephone interview. “We told the Bucks we won’t accept their offer. “He’s 100 percent sure he won’t be signing with the Bucks. He’s going to move on and play with some other team.’’

This sucks....good going bucks. They must have tried to give him a lowball offer and hope he took it. :(

Didn't the Bucks refuse to make the third year a player option?

Charlie said he would accept if it had player option the third year and the Bucks said no. Bad move - he's a superstar in Europe and a very solid NBA player.

Huge Transaction: Bucks sign Royal Ivey to a 1 year deal. Look out, we're going for the 'ship now!

Supposedly the Bucks are still considering matching Miami's offer to Bell as well. Please do...

Doesn't seem like Belle is very interested in coming back though - he'll probably be pissed if they end up matching Miami's offer.

I agree. He already said that he expressed no desire to play in Milwaukee and preferred to play elsewhere. I wonder how he'll react if the Bucks do decide to match.

Thats all the bucks need, more players that dont want to play here. :/ They could always match the offer and then trade him to the heat for something.

Or the Heat could just say "ha, you signed him to a five year contract, you fail" and find someone better in the NBDL.

Apparently the Bucks just matched the Heats offer. Why the hell couldn't they just offer him a fair contract to start with, and then try to trade him (if that was their intentions)?

This way they piss of Charlie Bell, and lower his trading value because other teams knows he isn't interested in playing for Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Bucks today matched the Miami Heat's five-year, $18 million offer sheet to guard Charlie Bell, according to National Basketball Association sources. The Heat extended the offer on Monday, and the Bucks had seven days to respond. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

Bell had said he wanted to go to Miami and hoped the Bucks would not match the offer. Milwaukee's previous offer had been a three-year deal for $9 million. Miami was rebuffed in its second off-season attempt to land a key member of the Bucks' backcourt. Earlier this summer, the Heat made a five-year, $31 million offer to unrestricted free agent Mo Williams, who wound up signing a six-year, $52 million deal with the Bucks. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

 Wow. I hope he changes his feelings towards the bucks. I mean yeah it was a no brainer to match the contract since he is a very valuable player. But he felt slapped in the face with the bucks first offer. Maybe it was their plans to low ball, so other teams wouldnt go higher then their actual highest offer. Well anyway, i hope he changes his attitude toward the bucks, because im sure every bucks fan would welcome him back with open arms!
