SvR2008 Roster

Here it is guys, the final roster for SvR2008. Hits and miss imo... they could've really used RVD, Victoria, Londrick instead of garbage like Kelly Kelly & Snitsky.

I didn't expect RVD to be there given he's left the company but I agree that Victoria and Londrick should have been included. I would have thought Cade and Murdoch would make the cut as well seeing as though they're the reigning tag champs on RAW, especially over Shad and JTG who have been on and off TV and have just been released.

Who the F is Kelly Kelly? BTW, is Booker T gonna be named King Booker or he'll still be Booker T?

She's one of the women on the ECW brand. It looks as though the King Booker gimmick will continue for a while yet.

No Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Cade, Murdoch, Santino, Super Crazy, Noble, Jimmy Wang Yang, Boogeyman, or even Eddie Guerrero as a legend? I can't imagine what they're thinking, but Rick Rude and Terry Funk could be fun.

How does Cryme Tyme get in over any of them? They were barely used at the time the roster was probably finalized and are now history

...and Sabu is a WWE Legend? Yikes.

A few of those wrestlers probably got bumped in order to fill out the ECW roster since it's supposed to have an "equal presence" to RAW and Smackdown in the game.

Yet ECW's biggest presence(size) at the roster cutoff date was Kevin Thorn, which he didn't even make it in. I would've taken Shelton, Kendrick, London, or RVD over Kelly Kelly, Dykstra, Snitsky, and Michelle McCool anyday.

Yeah the roster is a joke. How do they go from 50 wrestlers and 16 legends in 07 to 42 wrestlers and 8 legends this year???? PSP has more legends for crying out loud!

I agree, though RVD wasn't going to happen seeing as though he's left the company. As you said though, the roster is quite hit and miss. There's never any problem as far as including the top names but the midcard down could stand to be better.

In the past THQ have indicated that they shake things up year to year (especially with the Legends) so that there's some variety. I'd much rather they tried to include as many wrestlers as possible and a decent complement of Legends in each instalment rather than picking and choosing between the more expendable names.

Well, RVD certainly stayed alot longer than Sabu did. That's a good enough reason to have RVD in imo.

And thoughts on IGN's Smackdown countdown? It's shocking to see new animations, especially Punk's GTS. But it's finally in nonetheless. It's about time NA fans finally get an somewhat accurate KENTA. Those gutbuster replacements from previous years still makes me shake my head.

Wow, hadn't seen any of the countdown.

Looks really bad to be honest, though a 3D version (Fire Pro :) ) of the GTS has been a long time coming. Game looks so clunky and boring - don't know if I'll even bother this year, since King of Colosseum II is the pinnacle of wrestling gaming for me right now.

That game's cover is hands down, without a shadow of a doubt, THE best wrestling cover I've ever seen. Utter coolness

With that aside, if only the game pulled off a Fire Pro and makes a debut in North America... same goes to ASPW3 too. I still haven't found a translated copy to download...

A translated copy of which? FPR is the only one with a translation patch, which I can link you to if you'd like it. ASPW3 has fantastic animations but I've heard it's very difficult to put on a decent match like KoC 2. I agree about the cover too.

It should be released the same day as SVR 08, I believe (November 11).

Buy one for a friend with a PS2. Support the movement if you're a wrestling game fan  It's only $20, so I'm definitely going to get a few for myself and some friends/relatives who are interested in wrestling.

Yet another technical correction - it's only $15 according to Amazon. Such a great value.

Good point.

I doubt it will sell well given that people will see the back of the box and say "What?? 2D graphics??" and be done with it.

Yeah, sadly, you have to be a pretty dedicated wrestling fan to even care about Fire Pro in the first place, since most casuals nowadays are so blinded in awe by the next-gen of graphics that they mistaken the great graphics for lackluster gameplay.

Japan gets all the goodies. I would've gone to extreme lengths just to obtain that speciall FF7 PSP Slim bundled with Advent Children... and NA is only ever going to get Advent Children anyways... probably next year. But oh well, NA screws Japan over with the GTA series in the same way anywho

So IGN just broke the exclusive news for PS3 and XBox 360.

PS3 gets a feature where you can hold R1 i believe, and see the wrestlers entrances in first person mode. While this is going on, you can use sixaxis to move the wrestlers view around and see the crowd or whatever you want as he is making his way to the ring.

Xbox 360 gets custom soundtracks. Which allows you to use any ripped song on your xbox 360 as a wrestlers theme song when they come out to the ring.

Personally i think PS3 got shit, while 360 got something that is awesome. I know im going to enjoy the custom soundtracks, adding songs to original caws, updating current wrestlers themes, or creating legends and giving them their class theme. IMO this will sway alot of buyers to get the 360 version, thats if you were able to afford both a PS3 and 360.

I'm definitely glad I've got an Xbox 360, I'd much prefer to assign my own custom theme music than see through the eyes of wrestlers during their intro.
