Scrubs Thread

Back in May it was confirmed that Scrubs will be returning for a seventh and final season, excellent news considering that ending it on the sixth season finale would have left the series on a cliffhanger with a lot of loose ends. Zach Braff is also returning so the series won't be undergoing any drastic changes to compensate for its main character leaving as That 70s Show was forced to endure when Topher Grace left.

It's a shame that the seventh season will definitely be the curtain call for the series but on the other hand I'd rather not see it drag on for years and decline in quality either, nor undergo retooling if any of the main cast (like Braff) were to leave.

What?! The 7th will be the last season? Dear god... One of the funniest shows on TV..

You signature was actually one of the reason I started to watch it... another was the All-Weekend Marathon on Comedy Central.

It's probably for the best though. Scrubs is one of those rare shows that hasn't produced a particularly weak or unwatchable episode in my opinion and while they have a great cast and group of writers working on the show, the longer the show goes on the harder it will be to maintain that quality.

I think it should've ended last season. It was supposed to end each of the last two years, so both were written as "final episodes" for the series. (That's why there was a clipshow last season.) I feel Lawrence will end the series on a cliffhanger with loose ends. That's how life is, even when you stop paying attention.

Scrubs has had too much crap the last two seasons, in season five it was Turk and Carla, and general JDness, that was saved by the last five episodes. Season six was just a general waste until they got rid of Private Dancer and got things back together for a finish, as they were struggling to answer the questions they intended to go out on.

I don't have faith in Scrubs or The Office being able to survive after what they pulled at the end of their previous seasons. It's just going to be too much crap. At least 30 Rock is clutch.

This could be revealing far too much to people i dont know. But then again, do i give a shit?

But a friend of a friend of mine (whom i had never met) decided to have a Scrubs themed 21st birthday. Anyway, my friend rounded up a few of us and got us to go to this party (FILLED with people we'd never met) as Ted's barbershop quartet. We learned all of the tv show themes that had made an appearance on the episodes (Charles in Charge, Wonderdog and the Scrubs theme for good measure) and we actually performed them at this party. After weeks of rehearsals. And it was great.

I'd prefer an ending with some sort of resolution. I guess it doesn't hurt to leave the audience wondering about the characters but personally I'd find too many questions left unanswered somewhat unsatisfying.

That's top quality (Y)

I really like the idea of having a Scrubs themed party, would have to get some med student friends to steal some stuff though.

I just wish I had a stuffed dog like Rowdy, that would be very cool

Yeah, but when you need to sing and sound fantastic doing it, then you need to do it before you've had 9 jugs of beer. Otherwise, it's karaoke Khe Sanh.

I don't watch it on a regular basis, but when I catch it on the TV I usually watch it and laugh my ass off while seeing Cox being sarcastic at JD .

I will probably watch the show on DVD. Since I rather watch 7 seasons in one row then waiting a year for a season. For example I'm going to start watching The Sopranos now when they stopped filming it.

Any predictions for the cliffhanger ending of Season 6? On the surface it would suggest another round of JD and Elliot but Bill Lawrence has said in the past he'd like to avoid a "Ross & Rachel" type situation with his characters so it wouldn't surprise me if proves to be a momentary lapse. If they do end up together, I would guess it will be towards the end of the season or in the finale rather than throughout the final season.

Old news but I hadn't seen it before:
'Scrubs' resuscitates Wright's role

Wright has been given the opportunity to play a character who's the polar opposite of the spiritually minded Laverne: a single, alcoholic woman who shuns religion.

I assume they will have just not kissed. It wasn't shown at the end anyway.

I would personally, make them return to their lives before the on-call room. Unfortunately you can't go back to this superior ending to the series now, so you have to thrust them back into their lives and leave them miserable.

I suspect JD will overcompenstate somehow with Kim, while Elliott will openly lose interest in Keith. That way twenty episodes from now you can get those two to bail on the main characters.

I suppose an other big ending could be to break up Turk and Carla. It's hard to develop something new for these characters. Should've ended last season.

Can't beleive I havent come accross this thread. I think this might be the only show that im addicted to. for the last two years my flatmate and I have watched 2-3 episodes every night, sometimes even more. I think we are currently on the 3rd time through watching it (Would be the 4th for me I think).

Anyway i'm glad and sad that season 7 will be the last, im not looking forward to not having any new episodes to look forward to, but on the other hand as big a fan as I am I personally thought that season 6 struggled at stages, almost as if halfway through they werent sure what they were going to do with the story line. However it did pick itself back up about halfway I think it was.

I HATED that musical episode, I know its been critically acclaimed and all, but I just cant stand musicals. The songs were clever etc but I just couldnt make myslef watch my favourite show get turned into a musical arghhhhh!! Oh well, heres to season 7 (B)

Oh btw whats everyones favourite quotes? The first that comes to mind for me is:

JD: That's Iraq
Janitor: That's China
JD: You're China!
Janitor: That's an outrageous accusation!

Classic Janitor speech! Gotta say he would be my favourite character

Umm...I'm not sure what you're trying to prove there. In my first post I acknowledged it was old news ("Back in May it was confirmed that Scrubs will be returning for a seventh and final season") but posted it for the benefit of people who were unaware, seeing as though we didn't have a Scrubs thread at that point.

No worries, just wasn't sure what you talking about. :)

My guess is that it'll start being shown on Australian TV sometime next year at a timeslot that does no justice to the show while some awful excuse of a show like Mark Philippoussis's reality TV series.

Yeah, they were the days. That 70s show was also on at primetime once. Thank god for the internet, otherwise I would never have been able to watch so many episodes of both series.
