Chuck and Larry is funnier than The Simpsons Movie, imo.

I'm not gonna dare pit one against the other. They are both excellent movies with different stories, and you're gonna have to watch them both. Neither is better than the other, they're both equally awesome.

IMO Goodfellas is slightly better, but I suggest you watch both. As Cy said, the story lines are completely different so you can't really compare.

Tonight's sneak preview was Planet Terror.

If you're looking for indepth story or any story at all, don't watch it. If you're looking to be entertained by blood, gore, guns and sexyness...all which are so amazingly over the top you can't help but laugh...then watch it.

I liked it, a friend of mine thought it was horrible...but hey, to each their own.

Wed Aug 08, 2007 2:29 pm

Did they show you Death Proof, too? Planet Terror and Death Proof are supposed to be a double feature called Grindhouse.

Wed Aug 08, 2007 6:47 pm

In europe they are launched as two movies, i have no idea why

Wed Aug 08, 2007 9:29 pm

Because the Grindhouse double feature didn't go down as well as expected in the States.

So because of that (and length) they chopped the movies.

Thu Aug 09, 2007 12:22 am

It depends on the country and how well the movie goes in that country. They're showing the full version of Grindhouse here.

Oh man, just came back from a pre-showing of Superbad.... it was hilarious... can't really describe it other than I couldn't stop laughing.

Watched Fracture, good story line and Hopkins is still a great actor. His role in the movie is quite similar to the Silence of the Lambs, also a good movie.

Sat Aug 18, 2007 5:07 am

No it's not. In Lambs he was a deranged, psychotic, manipulative murderer. In this he's a clever husband trying to get away with murder.

How is that similiar?

Sat Aug 18, 2007 6:16 am

He is a murderer in both film's.

Is that similar :P ?

As for me , I watched Evan Almighty and the Simpson's today.

Evan is an alright movie , but its not as good as Bruce Almighty though. Carrey should be starring the lead role I like him better then this guy.

The Simpson's were alright , not great but alright.

Looking forward to watching some movie's tomorrow, since its raining like crazy over here.

Caught Bourne Ultimatum the other day. I guess if you liked the first two, you will like this one. Matt Damon still doesn't seem like a great action star to me. The camera angles are always cutting very quickly when he is in a fight, but it's possible that is just a style of the action sequences for this particular trilogy. One of the scenes reminds me of Minority Report when he is guiding a reporter through a crowd via a cellphone trying to keep him from being spotted by government agents. I wasn't overly impressed or disappointed with the movie.

Lately I saw Reservoir Dogs, Lucky Number Slevin & Pulp Fiction. I loved all 3 of them.

They all have very similar "twists," but yeah, they are all great movies! Did you watch all of it in a DVD package, or just rented all three?

He got it in a perfectly legal matter.

I feel out of place here, because I don't watch that many movies. Simpsons was the shit, though.

(I'll just vent my steam in here since its related and leads to my topic)

WTF is wrong with cinemas here in the country? They have already removed the Simpsons Movie when it's still less than 2 weeks! Less than 2 fucking weeks! while the Harry shitehead movie is still showing for like a month and a half now.
:x  :furious: :cussing: :wall:

Unable to see the Simpsons Movie, I was ready to punch in the face any person that looks at me directly in the eye. Then I saw that the Bourne Ultimatum is already showing so my head cooled off. Sweet.

Comments about the movie:

What's up with all the climbing to the rooftop chase scenes? Jason Bourne wants to be Batman of the daylight?

I wish he had beaten up just one more guy when he was escaping in the finale.

What's with all the Motorola celphones used in the movie? Is the U.S. government that cheap as to provide the CIA and sleeper assets with such a crappyass phone?

All in all though, I loved the movie. I like the pacing through it all from beginning to end. Made me feel like I'm part of the chase, after viewing it I just felt tired.

I also saw Blades of Glory. Has some good haha moments but I think a line from the movie sums it up best: What the Hell?

Wow, that's crazy! Maybe The Simpsons aren't doing as well in the Philippines?

Sun Aug 19, 2007 7:23 pm

Still, fuck them cinemas.

Had a lot of time on my hands and watched quite a couple movies.

Rush Hour 3-Horrible movie and boring from beginning to end. The only laugh was probably where they interrogated the Asian guy who spoke french.
The Simpsons-Had a couple laughs, but the story was kind of weak.
Superbad-This movie is the shit. Loved when Seth went off on McLovin and talked about his cock drawing problem.
Hannibal Rising-Pretty interesting and a little disturbing....
Hostel-Awesome movie.
Van Wilder-Lauren Cohan is hot(movie sucked)
Harold and Kumar-Damn funny. "Battleshits"
28 Days Later-There was probably only like 20 minutes of "The Infected" shown in the movie.
28 Weeks Later-Much better than the prequel
DOA:Crappy movie, but Helena and Tina are hot.

Wed Aug 22, 2007 4:17 am

Finally got a chance to catch the Simpsons Movie...
As much as it pains me to say, I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected to. It just reminded me too much of the last couple of seasons: sometimes funny but never hysterical as it used to be, and instead of making Homer stupider/funnier, they just making him stupider/annoying as hell...Just not what it used to be...
