The "I've lost all hope in humanity" Thread

The "I've lost all hope in humanity" Thread

Postby The Other Kevin on Wed Aug 15, 2007 1:29 pm

Yeah, I've decided to make this an area to discuss things in life that make you shake your head, bang your fist, or cotemplate mass genocide of the planet.

This may be the greatest lawsuit ever. An inmate sues everything ever created pretty much, including the semi-planet Pluto.

I'm aware this might be merged with the 'Laugh it up' thread, so I won't be surprised.

LOL. Steven Spielberg, Three Mile Island, Paris Hilton, University of Miami, FRUIT OF A LOOM!!!! Chris Berman of ESPN, Saddam Hussein, and it just goes on and on...

I like how it starts off with the President of the United States, then works down the government, and then it just goes nuts. Looks like this guy just grabbed the Yellow Pages and looked through every name or every category or something.

Hey, check out page 54. Doobie and his brother are getting sued. Dman, good luck with that. I'd get a good lawyer, maybe Jackal if he's available.

It can't be real, it just can't.

Oh wait it can because you can sue for anything in America, including not being able to sue.

He is also suing Michael Vuck for 63 billion billion, and the extra billion is not a typo.

...Mr. Vick sold my dogs on EBAY auction, and used the proceeds to buy missles from the Iran Government.

63 quintillion? Who on earth even has that much money? Even that Mexican tycoon guy only has 67.8 billion.

You pretty much do that on a daily basis when you work in technical support, particularly when you encounter people who struggle with tough questions like "What is your username?" or difficult instructions like "Click on the Start button" or those who can't find what you're asking them to look for because it's not in the middle of the screen.

My current favourite however is the customer who rings up and says they have a problem with Outlook Express or Windows Mail, then claim they don't know how to open it even though they've clearly opened it before to experience the problems they're ringing up about.

whenever i see the stupid lawsuits that win i shake my head and want to flee america. shit like, sueing mcdonalds cause the coffee was hot. then there was a guy who sued the maker of his RV cause it didnt say in the directions that you still had to steer while useing cruise control. the lawsuit said he put on cruise control and got up to use the bathroom and the RV flipped so he sued. shit like this makes me crazy. one guy tried to sue a dry cleaner for 67 million dollars because they lost his pants. they later found his pants and he kept the lawsuit going claiming they were not his. i wanna know in what world are a pair of pants worth 67 million. wtf do people come up with these numbers? luckily the guy lost, though he is fileing a appeal

The guy suing the dry cleaners was actually a fairly respected lawyer as well. Good way to damage your reputation. Why didn't he just accept their apology rather than trying to bankrupt the store owners. It's just really ridiculous and selfish. If the Australian legal system starts heading in this direction it would give me another reason to emigrate to Sweden. This is coming from a law student as well.

Tech support. Specifically Dodo tech support. I actually had a full blown argument with some IT guy there last night, I must have interrupted his WoW game or something because he wasn't happy that I needed assistance. I managed to slip the word "cunt" into my rant so I was happy with how the fight went.

We don't even have forums anymore...I was going to delete those but people were having so much fun asking for the NTeams patch.

It's more like ABA2000.

Jae?!? Hmm...wonder if Barn-Z sent you my message? Blaqk Audio?

A few of our customers who used to be with Dodo have similar stories. They don't sound like a motivated or friendly bunch.
