The Intros

Postby TRUball on Mon Sep 29, 2003 7:53 am

ok the intros are still messed up. The announcer is too slow or maybe the players are too fast, on that intro clip of the raptors, it said antonio davis when vince was getting up, it is not as bad as it was in 01 but it is still not good, I know it is just a cut sence and most people, like me for example, will just skip the intros, but when I feel like watching it, it would be good to actually have the players get off the bench when the announcer says there name.

but the intro is now for every game, and not just for the finals!

and, in 2003, we hear 4name on 5 starter

in 2004, 5/5!

I still miss the whole atmosphere.
As we saw in the Raptors intro video they cut fast from Marv Albert's introduction of the game to the home teams introduction.
I want that whole tv presentation feel of the announcer announcing tonight's game, the away team introduction (with the arena lights still on), to the home teams intro, complete with dark arena.
Also, they are wearing their jersey's during the intro, which isn't really something they do usually.

I want the whole TV feel of a game...

We all want it but Live should improve the gameplay 1st, be patient, it'll come in time/

My thoughts exactly. If the gameplay stinks then what value do intro's have?

Maybe a button was pressed to skip some of Alberts intro?

I would have liked to see complete player introductions - first the away team with the lights on, then a more enthusiastic introduction for the home team. But it's only the player intros - I'll get by with what's in the game.

the intro look like the same we have in NBA live 2001, all the arena is black and we hear the name of the home starter !!

that's all!

why they can't put "alan parson project : serious"(it's the music we listen when you see the Bulls'intro) during the intro? make some spotlights with the logo, name, position, number?

like from UNC,guard,6"6 number 15, Vincccccce Air Carter??

i still dont understand why ea could never get the intro right.... maybe vince was way too hyped to get on the court....

no biggie, but it should be simple to fix.

I'd like to see an intro where the away team is being introduced while Marv Albert and the Czar are making a pre-game analysis.

Then when they're right about done, the lights start to dim and fade to darkness, the music comes on, the PA announcer starts to go off his nut, the crowd goes bonkers, the laser light show comes on and the home team gets announced.

Then after that it goes to a cut-scene where the players are getting last minute instructions or players taking off their warm-up uniforms or players moving to the centre of the court greeting the other team ready for the jump-ball.

That, my friends, is how it really is and would be a grreat inclusion to the game I would think.

Cheers! :)

What concerns me more is the fact that the player in the video is running into the opponent for like 5 seconds and then suddenly does this mid air move.

I expect another looooooong and frustrating year, with the CPU running into you, you defending as good as possible and suddenly he'll pull off another move that can't be stopped.

You know what I mean ...

They robbed me last year, they won't rob me this one...

What I had hoped they fixed (and noticed that they still haven't) is one thing that I think makes the difference between a realistic intro and a bad one (the part where the players come in I mean.) The anims look cool and stuff, that's not the bad part. The bad part is (and I always hated this in NBA Live 2000! too) that the players will always run out before/while their name is being called. In real life, a player stands in the shadows, and then his name is called out, and then he runs out and hi-fives and stuff. In the game he is always running out and then his name is called. It is like the soundtrack is slower than the players or something, and sometimes it gets so bad (when there are long names) that a player and the players name before him will almost overlap.

Sorry for the long post, but this really peeves me off! If they could fix this little problem then the intros would be improved significantly IMO.
