Yeah, I always liked that phony salesmen/lawyer they'd bring in every once in a while.

IIRC, Phil Hartman used to do those voices, but he died a couple years ago.

R.I.P. Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sánchez, aka Dr. Nguyen Van Falk.

There's also that character, Gil, who was created after Hartman died.

Gil's first appearance came before Hartman's death but after the Lionel Hutz character was retired he became the family's new lawyer.

gil is everything, he does everything on the show and he is always down on his luck and cant catch a break. gil is the best level 3 character the show has imo(i classify level 3 as the side chars who never have a story for them or are not on the show for long periods of time)

He really is quite funny, but I'd rather see anything from Bumblebee Man or Cletus, I just love these two...
Can't believe I haven't seen the movie yet. :?

He's become quite a prominent recurring character though, so he might be a bit higher than a third tier character. He's even had an episode based around him.

I saw the movie tonight. I havent really followed the Simpsons before, but I thought the movie was pretty funny. All of my friends liked it too, and it seemed liked most people in the theater thought the movie was funny too.

I thought it had maybe four and a half funny moments...overall it was terrible, the story sucked. The ending was atrocious. I certainly did not "stand up and cheer" like one critic claimed I would.

And seriously, what a misuse of Ralphie.

i cant say i am suprised its you who would bash the movie, you seem to be the negative voice on everything, but i honestly cant believe you only got 4 and a half laughes out of this movie.

I am not a negative voice on things that I find to actually be good. I can say positive things. I mean this movie was four times funnier than Little Miss Sunshine which only had one funny part. ("Technically, I think it's a lowfat yogurt.")

The plot of this movie was completely vapid, it was three episodes of tired jokes poorly strung together with better animation.

/ * POSSIBLE SPOILERS
The funny parts:
-Lindsey Naegle's "You're the five people I'll meet in hell!"
-The kid asking Tom Hanks to tussle his hair, corresponding tussle.
-"Sop" sign discussion.
-Flanders to one of the childen (forget which) about his devil's curls.
and a half: Moe disagreeing and his divine right.

I certaintly didn't laugh at them but I enjoyed the idea of: Krusty sending Mr. Teeny after Maggie, the doorman uniform.

Nothing else was even clever. (And using Arnold instead of Rainer was possibly the second worst move of the entire film. The first being the complete lack of Ralphie beyond an less than freshmen Ralphism.)
* / END ANYTHING

I'm sure the hype of "greatest animated movie ever" and "you'll stand up and cheer" make it seem far more terrible than it is. It's just unremarkable, but the hype and Simpsons factor raise expectations. Either way it's a movie I'd never want to watch again, is easily one of the least hilarious "comedy" films I've seen in a while, and then there's the mindless plot.

Although if Lindsey Naegle's part is on YouTube, I will be bookmarking it.

I really hope this isn't a harbringer for any upcoming damage to Futurama's brilliant legacy.

I must say I loved every bit of it. They couldn't have done a better job IMO.

I watched it last night and I thought it was pretty good. Can't say it was much more than that though. I enjoyed it for the moment, but it's certainly nothing that will make a bigger impression on me than a few episodes will.

I think the idea of that isnt a fully-fledged comeback like family guy's, the 4 movies are supposed to tie in with each other and finalise the series properly. the way the creators had intended.

really its all about money, if those 4 movies sell big, and they keep getting the ratings on adult swim, they will be back.

That's pretty much how Family Guy made its comeback, on the heels of strong DVD sales, so I'd say it's within the realm of possibility.

I agree with you 100% and i'm sure we both have been flamed in our time for saying that. As always, i will stick it out. Nothing can touch seasons 3-6.

I watched the Simpsons movie again. This time I watched it all the way through the credits and it had some interesting stuff. Everybody had looted Mr. Burns mansion, and Mr. Burns said it might make him feel better to see Smithers commit suicide. It also showed the backs of the Simpsons in the theater and just before they left, Maggie said her first words(they were really her second words).

Spoiler->She said - "Sequel?"

I watched it to the end of the credits as well. I normally don't stick around for the end credits but when they showed a couple of extra scenes early on I thought I might hang about and see if they put any more gags in.

I'm about to see it in few hours.
If I don't see a Disco Stu appearance, I will declare the movie a bust.
